this is the first time i havn't thought bobby kotick was a pompous prick. granted his business decisions are often not the brightest. dropping brutal legend, chronicles of riddick and ghostbusters and then turning around and suing for the rights to publish a game they chose to let go. all to release 7 guitar hero games? he's smart and obviously considerate and respectful about the process of making a videogame but, he's also an extremely shrewd businessman. He's in a unique position to actually make changes in the industry through the companies that are now in house studios for Activision, however, I do think his primary concern is the business aspect and I would not be surprised to see Activision continue to play it safe with most of their franchises and really only make a large impact via studios like Infinity Ward.

It is almost like he went up there and just said whatever came to his mind. I liked a lot of what he said about buying out game designers with a passion instead of those who are just looking to cash in.

He bought blizzard at the worst time possible. WoW profits went stagnant after Activision bought it meaning it was not worth 7 billion, starcraft 2 looks solid but it's also high risk because if the koreans reject it its gg, and Diablo 3 so far is doing it all wrong.

Anyways, blizzard is my favorite game developer so I hope the best for them.
