UPDATE: Revised Feedback edition with all-new Alan Wake impressions.
Feedback is back, baby. The big news of the week: X10! We just returned from Microsoft's X10 a few days ago, and the Xbox 360-centric media event saw blockbuster news about Halo: Reach, Fable III, Dead Rising 2, Alan Wake and more.
Also: This week, Feedback is going straight to HELL… with Game of the Week Dante’s Inferno. A very aggressive marketing campaign, strong religious overtones, and gameplay reminiscent of a well-established franchise has everyone talking about this epic poem adaptation. So sit back and listen as ringmaster Adam Sessler, Abbie Heppe, Andrew Pfister and Patrick Klepek discuss the finer points of Dante’s and the larger issue of whether imitation is truly the sincerest form of flattery.
But that’s not all. We’re also talking about.:
- Alan Wake: Tune in for this discussion where we take off the wraps and get in depth about this much-anticipated horror game.
- Activision’s layoffs: The economy might be (slowly) improving, but Activision has pink-slipped some employees. They’ve also slightly shifted directions. What does that mean for you, The Gamer? Feedback will break it down for ya.
- Plus, reader's question of the week, witty repartee, thoughtful observations and more.

I really enjoyed Jeespot's question at the end. The point Adam brought up in response to Asassins Creed II *ahem* "liberal sprinkling," of anti-theism was really funny. I wish some segments would flesh-out philosophical subtext in games, rather than just what we're looking forward to shooting....

haha!!! no way in hell will it be their last halo game, if they leave the halo series at a cliffhangar like that, i will effing sue them for all their worth, that is just bad storytelling on a long term, for shorterm its great if you have a sequel planned

Sigh... still NOTHING on MAG :(

Dead Rising 2 looks great, Crackdown 2 sounds fantastic but I'm more intrigued by Alan Wake.

Feels like a total nube... didn't realize that G4 clumps all of it's online stuff into one podcast... crap.

QUESTION: who do y'all think is a hotter gamer geek, Abbie Heppe or Morgan Webb?

Guys that get horny over video games are pretty sorry. I like Adam but when he was jumping around...I lost a lot of respect. Your a grown ass man Adam, act like one.
guillermo316
are they getting horny for games? i mean i like abbie heppie getting you know! but adam jumping around huh that was creepy?
Flight_Eagle
Last thing i leveled in Crackdown was my Exploding skill. Mainly cuz all i did was snipe with my machine guns... and Jump. I jumped a lot... Well actually, i think i only used rockets on Bosses. Like, i really had to work to get my exploding up.
Hate those road races. The download ones.
I think Dead Rising 2 will be a little more like i thought DR1 was going to be... just a little.
Aww, i like space marines... i mean, i like a diverse enough amount of games and space marines are among them.
Yeah, i thought ACII would have generated more controversy, but i guess it's a good thing it didn't. At least, not in a grand scale, maybe a blog or something.
But then you've got to figure, anyone who would make a big deal about it (politicians and god warriors, from what i've seen) would not likely play video games or have kids that play video games.

Great show guys, as usual. Ever thought of having Morgan on feedback?

Moral and philosophical implications? Of course. Heck, for a while Lamb, Andrew Ryan, Sage from Creed 1 (totally forgot his name) likes to outright tell you why her philosophy is right. Then again, I think a lot of that might be diminished by the good vs evil skirmish that games have an unnerving tendency to fall under. Any guy harvesting little sisters or blowing up allies or choosing the "bad" text option probably is going to ignore what real-life commentary the choice itself might hold. Or it could just be gamers don't give a darn past gore and boobies. A shame, really.

its kind of sad how well adam described high school me during the reader question discussion... i loved atlas shrugged in high school, then reread it and thought to myself "wow, i was kind of a jerk back then"

Man, all the games coming out this year , Fable III, Halo Reach, Fallout: New Vegas, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, Crysis 2, The new Call of Duty, the new Medal of Honor, Crackdown 2, Dragon Age (2?), and Natal... and that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Is this a sign that the gaming market is making it's resurgence and or will a lot of these games just tank because everyone can't afford spending almost $700 on games this year. I'm hoping some of these games actually get pushed back into next year so I have something to do in the spring....

That guy outside the window was Attack of the Show and X-Play member Blair Herter.

First off I love feedback, I personally think it tops the other gaming webcasts out there (threeredlights) if only because its refreshing to have some kind of intelligible structure.
I for one would like to see more philosophy in games, its a great way to flesh out the world in which the developer is trying to create. Just because some of it will fly over the heads of your audience doesn't mean you should dumb it down.
