What kind of game is it?
Aliens vs. Predator is a high-intensity first-person shooter that lets players experience the brutal world of AvP through the eyes of three warring species: humans, aliens and predators. Each faction offers unique gameplay opportunities, but in the end, it’s all about disposing of enemies in the most vicious ways possible. Pro tip: if you hear hissing, run.
Who's the developer?
Rebellion has been at the whole “game developer” thing for a while now. Interestingly enough, the developer’s breakthrough title was Alien vs. Predator for the Atari Jaguar back in 1995. Their next big title was, you guessed it, Aliens vs. Predator in 1999. After that, Rebellion delivered a number of sequels and ports of popular franchises including Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six. Last year, they released Star Wars: Battlefront: Elite Squadron for PSP and the comically bad Rogue Warrior.
What's the story?
The three-way narrative centers on a mysterious and ancient pyramid that a group of colonial miners stumble upon while doing whatever it is colonial miners do in the future. After awaking the pyramid’s previously dormant evil, alien, predator and human collide for an interstellar, interspecies battle royal for survival.
What’s new?
The marines have big guns, the Aliens have acid blood and baby-alien tongues, and the Predators have arm blades and love the way your spine feels in their hands; what more do you really need to know?
What'd we say?
Sega sent us the game rather late. We received copies just a few days ago, so we should have a review up by the end of the week, after we've put single-player and multiplayer through their proper paces. Stay tuned!

I finally got to play the full version! Personally a 2 out of 5 was a little critical of the game considering they didn't even give the courtesy of doing a video review or even talk about the multiplayers game types, it at least deserved a 3 out of 5 but all in all I really enjoy this game! Its at the least a rental if your not sure about the game, I however want it.

the game is awsome, its up with my list of Bad company 2, halo reach, and Tron Evolution

by the way reply to me with your gamertag so we can play online (xbox live)

i played the game (the full version). the best story so far was the alien.even though the camera gets kind of confusing when crawling around the walls trying to hide from your enemies or at least thinking of something to attack the lethal predator. i`ve got to say multiplayer is pretty good and so far my favorite games online are predator hunt, infestation, and mixed death match. the game is hot. but i like playing bioshock 2 better. this game is pretty violent (a.vs.p.), specially the predators ultimate kill. but is actually fun turtoring those marines and aliens. marine i think is the worse story compared to aliens and predators story.

been playing this game and for me its really awesome the only thing i need is to beat it with the marines i need that adrelinine rush lol, but what i really wanted is to get the aliens to be the facehugger in the first mission oh well, and they forgot the nets!!!!

I can't get it until tomorrow. some sort of shipping error. but the point is i am getting it. this game to me looks great.

Since it's getting pretty mixed reviews I don't know if I should be among the first to pick it up, reviews like the GameSpot or Game Informer reviews gave it horrible ratings (like it's something horrible like Lair or Haze), but some other reviews gave it pretty good reviews, and it appears nobody else cared to rate it ahead of release which kind of is keeping me from picking this up tomorrow morning until I hear what the other critics and gamers have to say.
Anyhow, I appreciate what Rebellion did bringing this game back, I realize they made the one on the Jaguar and they did the first PC game, but some part of me thinks SEGA should have let Monolith Productions do this latest game, after all they too have some publishing history with SEGA and experience making an AVP game (they made AVP 2, my favorite one), and I feel with their recent games like the FEAR series and the Condemned series that they've really developed a talent for putting horror into FPSs, which the AVP series needs, and they make some solid FPSs these days; that too me was a safer bet, but what's done is done. Oh well, if this turns out not to be so hot let's cross our fingers andn hope Gearbox's Aliens Colonial Marines is better.

i think the game is fantastic, alot of people i met while the demo thinks so too, though the alien is really underpowered, i pre-ordered it

I agree with AeroJake, the controls are awful. The idea is good, but attacking with the bumpers is just akward. Plus it is near impossible to control the alien without getting some kind of motion sickness. Why does the predator have cloaking if everyone can see you anyways? They had the right idea, just poorly executed.

It doesn't really look like anything that stands out to me except to people who played the first game or are really nostalgic in relation to the movies growing up...I'll stick with bioshock 2 and Mass Effect 2 with a side of Dante's Inferno and Bayonetta.

OK i really dont see why so many people like it. the controls are clunky, at best, the one hit kill "finishers" fit into that category, and the blocking system can easily cause a substantial overbalance in skill and experience during a match.

Definitely deserves a couple minutes of your time. Go get the demo right now!

hmmm..... love it, or hate it....
LOVE IT!!!! First day buy for sure. Getting tired of headshots. (MW2)

This game has been getting some varied reviews. Gamespot 5.5 and IGN UK a 8.5...........definitely worth a rent but its starting to look like a love or hate game.

Oh boy, ANOTHER FPS. Ho-freaking-hum... Without M/KB support these games are useless and identical. I'm glad I have a PS3 for some variety but they really need to find a way to alter this genre. At the very least support a proper control method.
And before some smartass says play it on PC, I don't trust PC games anymore. Between the DRM, rootkits, OS checks, Steam virus and other malware, it's just to that point where the hassle is too great. Which is a shame because there's a few FPS's I wouldn't mind trying. The last one I played was the original FEAR or Painkiller.

I am turning in bioshock 2 for this game!!!

Has anyone noticed how underpowered the flamethrower is? I could bake a potato faster than it takes to kill someone...

I am going to buy when how you say? Gets to lower 20 dollars. Maybe or steal game for free.
Jackal904
The multiplayer in this game is a blast. Even though the demo has only one map I still play it every day.
