In just a few weeks, Final Fantasy fans here in the states will finally be able to say, "So long friends and family! See you in a few months!" and be at least somewhat more justified than usual. And seeing as Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII is just around the corner, X-Play’s Rob Manuel figured he’d take one last opportunity to break down the 13 things you need to know about one of 2010’s most anticipated titles.
"You can even stack your next series of attacks before the bar fills all the way. Interestingly enough, they use this idea to do away with another Final Fantasy staple – MP. Spells now take up a longer piece of the gauge in order to execute. No ether required here."

They are tryin to strip down this game and change it to something else just to get a larger fan base. But in all actuality they are going to make the fans they already had stop playin it. Before they would make slight changes but still keep a similiar set up. Now they just changed it all. Who knows if it is even going to be worth buying.

They completley stripped the core component of the original FF series from this game, and spit out some Ninja Gaiden wannabe.
Stick with what worked!!!!
Theres a reason people still go back and play FF7 that game worked, you should use it as template for future endeavors.

I was really looking forward to this game until I saw the international video. That made me realize how much of a soap opera this game is going to be. No towns?! No reviving?! No going back to places I've already been?! Square Enix will not be getting my $60. I love FF, but they have taken out too many things I've loved from the past Final Fantasy games. What a real bummer.

Final Fantasy XIII looked good back in the early trailers of the game back at E3 '06 and it looks good now.

I sorry but this game will be nothing more than the Resident Evil 5 of the series.The fact that they threw out past conventions like going threw towns and saving is just crap.Plus not having the ablities to revist area is a total WTF along with if your party gets knock down you can't revive them,even with other members in your party is at full health is just not right.Then they go and have the summons turn to race cars that are drivable is got be one of the most dumbest moves along with the already Twlight written script.This game will only get great reviews based on keeping their online advertisers happy and prevent them from pulling their adds.This is more like your 12yr old Halo loving brothers Final Fantasy now.

Hearing some of the changes it seems as if they are changing FF into a really fancy Altier Iris or Mana-Khemia

Any one here still play 1, 2, 3 on there DS? I realize that they are kind of dated but they are fun at any rate.

Is it just me or does this combat system sound very familiar to Chrono Cross? I'm not saying that itsbad thing because Chrono Cross was amazing...Just curious if anyone else noticed that.

I've been looking forward to this game for years. I've even been having dreams about it. It better not be a disappointment like Final Fantasy 11 and 12.

I am undesided on this one. I like them when they come out but grow bored with them fast and once you beat it that is it not a lot of replay value on this. I have it reverved but I might put that money on the expantion for Dragon Age and wait to rent this one. Looks cool but I might wait.
