LEGO Universe Hands-On Demo And Beta Sign Ups At CES 2010

If you're eager to get your hands on Lego Universe, the block-tastic MMO supposedly coming out in the second half of 2010, your chance is now: Lego is accepting applications for the Beta test of this title. The splash page for the invite site says:

"Sign up now for your opportunity to become one of our chosen heroes that must answer the call. Your mission is to test LEGO Universe for bugs, so prepare yourself to strap on your suit of armor and help your friends battle the dark forces of the Maelstrom!"

I love Legos. And I love video games. And I love MMOs. But I won't be signing up. In the best of all possible worlds, this game will be revolutionary and awesome and will eat up all of my free time. Must. Stay. Away. You, however, might have a less addictive personality than I have. What do you think? Are you down for Lego Universe?

Kind of looks a bit like Super Mario Galaxy except lego-style. I will get it as soon as it comes out. And I will build references to me everywhere in the lego World. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA *Cough*

I can't possibly dedicate any more of my time to video games.

    Or can I?

    No.

    But?

    NO.

Legos bring me back to my childhood, its pure nostalgia. However, I'm not sure what the gameplay depth will be, considering its younger audience. No leveling up or experience points doesn't give the same satisfaction as other games do if I accomplish a certain feat or defeat an enemy boss. I don't know if it means I'll ever actually play this game, in lieu of other MMOs (I'm retired from WOW anyways), but I am confident in potential of this game to purely be fun now and then...

I'm not only down for it, I'm going to build Lego clones of myself to replace me in all other aspects of my life....
