[Update: 12:26 PM]: EA just confirmed to me that while there is in fact a WWII level in the game, "we're not discussing any details about it right now." Kind of saw that one coming.
The ESRB has once again revealed some rather intriguing information on a high profile game by way of their always informative rating summaries. This time, the game in question is DICE’s upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and the noteworthy piece of info is that the game actually features a section that takes place in World War II.
As the ESRB notes, "In single-player mode, players conduct missions on an unnamed Japanese island during World War II and then move into the modern day through jungles, deserts, and snowy terrain."
From the sound of it, the game opens in the past, perhaps establishing either a character or plot connection with the modern-day battling that serves as the basis for the rest of the game. I contacted EA to see what they might be willing to reveal about the section/sections, so I'll let you know if hear anything.

i remember seeing a post from L_Twin on Twitter about a good WWII story driven game.. i say bring it! They need to revamp what most other games have ruined and cmon, it's DICE!

There is the option to change the control schemes for everything back to BC1 controls in the options menu. I am sorry I don't have crayons to draw you up a nice little diagram to show you how to do this.

i pre-ordered this game and couldn't wait to get my hands on this demo. Once i did play the demo i took back my pre-order because it isn't worth 60 bucks. it's online isn't even fun

Just because you like this game doesn't mean you have to trash on MW2. Personally I wasn't so sure about this and had no plans to buy it. I played the demo and I love it. You're right about one thing, people who play this won't be obsessed with k/d ratios and that does run rampant in MW2. However I enjoy both games. BC2 is more tactics and teamwork based than MW2. You don't have to get all mad and accuse someone of being a troll just because they don't like the game. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Arguing and calling someone names over the internet proves nothing.

I only have one gripe with the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 demo. Sniping. Sniping in BF:BC2 is awesome, but for some reason when I was trying to snipe someone from across the map (from the buildings the defenders start in, to the rocks on the cliff close to where the attackers start off) I couldn't hit anything! Normally, when the crosshairs intersect on a guys head, it's a headshot, but that was not happening. So, I figured, maybe the game was calculating the bullet dropping, so I aimed higher, and I aimed progressively higher, until I reached the thicker part of the crosshairs... and still, nothing. I don't know, maybe it's just me. But it was really pissing me off, becuase he was trying to hit me also (very rarely did we inexpicibly hit eachother) and we spent half the match just trying to line up a shot.

Demo is AMAZING. im glad they released one so it will turn away a lot of the MW2 scrubs. and it we clean the community and keep it more mature and PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. not k/d. o yea this game won't support game breaking glitches, stick to MW2 if you want that

I can't believe all the false information the MW2 fanboys (Bonerjam and gravy666) are vomiting here. They even try to pass it off as their "opinion" too. Sorry MW2 fanboys COD 4 was awesome but then IW lowered the bar a lot with MW2. What's next Bonerjam and gravy666? Gonna try to tell everyone that there is no kit customization in BC2?

ok seriously? the controls are fine in my opinion u ppl need to get over it, sorry BFBC2 is more realistic in the fact that u cannot just snap all the way around and do 360's in mid-air like in MW2, and before u go and say ima fanboy i have every COD!

Wow ppl really get worked up about this. heh. I don't think the controls were an issue. I loved the demo for this. I'm looking forward for this game. I love the pace of this compared to MW2. They give me health. I also like being part of a team. hehe. I ordered BC1 after playing this. Just to give me something to play online.
unrelated: I hope i'll enjoy bioshock's MP. i;m so getting that asap.
