Madden NFL 10 Superbowl Prediction XLIV »

Electronic Arts has once again used its perennial football juggernaut Madden to predict the outcome of the Super Bowl, and if the simulation is to be trusted (and why shouldn’t it be; it’s been right five of the last six years), the New Orleans Saints will best the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday in a nail biter.

You might remember that last year was crazy accurate with Madden predicting the Steelers over the Cardinals 28-24, with the actual score being 27-23. According to Madden NFL 10, this year’s Bowl will be another close contest, with the Saints edging out the Colts by four points. Place your bets now, folks.

And if the trailer isn't enough Super Bowl-y goodness for you, check out our new screenshot gallery.

What do think of this year’s prediction? Have any of you simulated the game for yourselves? What have been the results?

yeah i think everyone of those head on hits that bush took would have taken him down so its rediculously inaccurate you would have to be huge to just run through a bunch of players like that just like peter griffin when he joined the patriots. too bad the patriots suck to.

It's a win-win in my opinion...I do like both teams & both have great QB's but both have (at times) lax defenses...Peyton's is good at subterfuge & has bailed out his defense before providing he has adequate offensive blocking...the Saints have a good chance also if their defense tightens up but may suffer from "Super Bowl runner-up hangover" & the glits & glamour of their season come game time...was hoping the old man(Farve) would take Vikings to the show & win it all but that's another discussion.

Wow... a lot if ignorance on both sides, If the Saints play as they did in their previous game, they have no chance, the Colts beat one of the best defense's in the league with what seemed like ease. Peyton seemed to pick them apart no problem. The Colts defense is definitely their weakest point but was extremely tough against the Jets if the game is close and Peyton has 1.5 minutes or less at the end of the game it will easily be a Colts win. The only way I see the Saints winning is if they play completely flawless and the Colts fall apart. I don't recall how many turn overs there were int he Saints game last week but I think it was combined into the double digits... that is like preseason Raiders vs Lions numbers.

Swampfox...are you serious? for real, did you take any time to think of what you just said?

Peyton not having any good wr's? compared to Brady. If anything, it should be the other way around. Peyton has had a HOF WR with him his ENTIRE career. Where as Brady has had mediocre WR's (excluding 2 seasons with Moss.) Dont come in here spitting facts that are so blatantly false

First off about the whole Brady vs. Manning thin. Look back in time and realize that the Patriots defence were the main reason they won the SB 3 times in a row. If Bledsoe was uninjured and able to compete he would have won 3 in a row. Asante Samuel, Rodney Harrison, Seau, Brusci, Ty Law, all studs at the time period.

Manning has never had a good defence up until this year. In previous years the Colts would get ran all over. Now with Dungy gone, Caldwell brought in some 300+ lbs to before the line. Only 1 run over 75 yards while the starters played happened this year. Frank Gore did it. Plus the Colts also had a good Defence without the most talked about player Bob Sanders. Imagine if he was healthy for more than 8 days lol.

Okay how about this: Manning makes players better, look at Colie and Garcon...now look at what Brandon Stokley did for the Colts vs what he has done for the Broncos. Edgerian James is another example. Manning makes other players that much better.

Brady lost Welker and his offence tanked against the Ravens.Plus Moss really lost it this season and showed signs of his old self. Really I can see Bellichek trading Brady in a few years for a high draft pick. Also I think Moss(along with TO) is never gonna win a championship, they bring the team down more than the media shows.

Saints lost to big D and the Bucs, they aren't immortal, Manning will figure them out, plus the Cardnials and Vikings really didn't play very good defence on the Saints. Colts allowed 20 points in 2 games, plus the last 2 quarters of the Jets game, the Jets didn't score.

Also Manning is perfect in SB, Brady has lost 1. :)

Was this sim done on a Wii? I'm sorry but for having exclusive rights to NFL properties, EA really muffed the punt on Madden's visuals.

You realize that Tom Brady is a QB at Manning's caliber, right? If not of a higher caliber considering he's one more Super Bowls than Manning has.

The Saints will win because they have something the Colts don't: a SOUL.

F Peyton Manning? You realize that another QB of his caliber won't be around in our lifetime?

Like Jerry Rice being the best Receiver, no one will duplicate what he did after he caught a pass.

Enjoy it. Also hope the NFL doesn't become like the NBA.
