Marcus and Dom in Capcom's Lost Planet 2 isn't the only Epic Games-realted news on the horizon, with Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski telling his Twitter followers to watch out.
"Keep your eyes open for 'megaton face melting news,'" said Bleszinski.
Microsoft will be holding X10 in San Francisco next month, where the company is expected to showcase much of its first-half 2010 lineup and make announcements for the rest of the year.
Could Halo: Reach and Gears of War 3 be a back-to-back combo later this year?

Maybe it will be about the Gears of War movie adaptation? A videogame based off the storyline used in the movie for 2011?
Imo, would love to see Gears adapted into an arcade experience like Time Crisis. Similar length to Time Crisis, nothing crazy long, put it out in arcades for $19.99, 360/pc, mobile. The only reason movies can typically outperform gaming is because of the multiple distribution windows.

don't ask for a gears of war 3 game guys. i'd rather have epic games take its time making it to perfection unlike the rush job gears of war 2 was. we all know what it did to the multiplayer and story.

ok to be "megaton" would have to be Gears of War 3, to make it "Facemelting" would have to be compatible with Project Natal.
I dont see other option, I mean Fable III will be on Natal, why Gearsof War 3 not?

But a next gen gears of war would also suck cause it would be new hardware that they aren't used to. And ill be pissed cause id rather not shell out for a new console right away when it comes out to finish the gears story.

what i heard from several sites is that CliffyB wants to make Gears3 for the next gen console. If that is true this game could be one of the best games ever since they'd have like 7 or 8 years to make it.

Its gonna be "face melting news" because everyone will be pissed off/shocked that its NOT Gears of War 3 (as everyone wants/expects it to be), but the new HORROR IP they said they were working on.
While at the same time, having some kind of relation to said new horror IP.
And they wouldn't put HALO Reach & Gears of War 3 back-to-back like that.
They're two already well established franchises, that I'm pretty sure Microsoft wants to milk for it's money's worth...so they'll try to keep the launch days separate, if not far apart.

Release Gears 3 in January or February 2011. That way both Halo: Reach and Gears 3 can both have their spotlight.

They did this EXACT same thing back in 2008 when they announced Gears 2.

I doubt it would be Gears of war 3 , Epic said they would take a break from this franchise and make something new. They said it could take 5 years after gears 2 to see gears 3.
