The next game from Criterion Games most likely won't include the name Burnout. Instead, Electronic Arts has tasked the UK developer with aiding in the reboot of Need For Speed. Criterion Games is actively developing their take on Need For Speed and announced on Twitter today they would be showing off their hard work to a number of EA employees today.
"NFS [Need For Speed] will be shown for the first time today at internal Electronic Arts meeting!" said the company's Twitter. "Let's put the pedal to the metal and hit it....!"
No details on Criterion's version has been released so far. Hopefully, we'll know more soon.

most wanted was better than underground in my veiw, out running cops in super cars was great, and better music too.

The new NFS game needs to go back to the underground series. It was the best series Ive played. A bigger selection of cars would be nice too, more like Gran Turismo. I want to see some JDM Imprezas or a Eunis Cosmo.

Need For Speed with some Burnout elements sounds like a great combo. Can't wait to see actual gameplay.

hey nfs shift was an awesome new take on racing for the nfs series, and criterion can only improve on the original nfs formula so i definitely think EA is headed in the right direction.

PLEASE!!! Remake the Underground Series. It was the best series in the NFS Series. I think it will do better and its what almost every gamer wants.
One Request i would like is for the game to be less arcade like and more reallistic. And by that i mean real car damge, Low fuel, tire blowouts, real Cop chases (Not hitting a little icon so u can get away). And a good selection of cars. I hope Criterion makes a better NFS they already made the best burnout now lets see what they can do with NFS.

Here's hoping they can revive a drastically tarnished franchise, and restore my faith in the NFS name.
