Quantic Dream’s experiment in cinema-gaming, Heavy Rain, comes out next month, and to help you get into the moody mood, Sony has started an online mystery game called "Four Days”: The Heavy Rain Online Experience that will play out over the next three weeks. Each week, there will a certain number of daily puzzles, tasks, etc. that you’ll have to complete to progress to the next series of events.
All of this investigating will lead you along the path towards uncovering the identity of a serial killer. How this particular killer relates to Heavy Rain’s Origami Killer isn’t clear, but I’m sure there will be plenty to glean from the experience to make it worthwhile for anyone planning to pick up the game.
I just signed up for the game, and am currently on the first challenge. I like it when developers take the time to extend an experience beyond the confines of a game, and I’m definitely looking forward to following this thing along and seeing where it leads. Am I alone?

@gamermoney: LOL... I see what you're saying, and agree. :-) I just dIdn't agree with not calling it a "game". But hey... tomato, to-mato... potato... po-tato. LOL

I actually like these things a lot. They're fun and a lot of times give some cool back story to whatever it is advertising for (The Lost Experience anyone?).

Looks interesting, prolly not for some people but I am eager to see it.

rebel, that's kinda what I'm saying...I think lol. While games are a form of interactive media...Heavy rain does it in a way tha isn't the norm of every other game. I haven't played indigo prophecy but seeing as I played the qore scene over and over just to see how many outcomes there were...I can see myself playing heavy rain a whole lot lol. seems like there'll be more than 5 endings as 1 scene can possibly go in 6 different directions

Finally something different. I cant wait for this game.

Ah, but what IS a video game? It is an interactive experience, right? Just because you're not running and gunning or platforming or racing or fighting or flying a spaceship doesn't mean it's not a game. I believe Quantic Dream has created a new genre (or a new sub-genre)... filling some sort of gaming void. I thought this the minute I played Indigo Prophecy.
I mainly play action/adventure/war/platforme r/puzzle type games and when I first played Indigo Prophecy, I was like "YES, YES, YES!!!! Something new and fresh! I couldn't put that game down and I have a feeling I won't be able to put Heavy Rain down either. :-)

just from the qore scene I wouldn't call heavy rain a game. I'd call it more of an interactive movie. It's like you get to choose pieces of different scripts to put together and create your own experience

I think it will most definitely play up to the hype. For those who've never played Indigo Prophecy, you aren't exactly sure of the gaming mechanics or the gaming experience, which is AMAZING! Don't knock it until you've tried it... it will be an amazing experience. But I will say right now, if anyone is solely an action or FPS junkie then you may not like it. This game is an "experience" that puts in a movie. Indigo Prophecy was a supernatural thriller, which HEAVY RAIN appears to be as well. I have my pre-order and am SO ready to delve into this world.
And in response to the online game they've started, I will most definitely be signing-up!

Heading over to sign up for this... Sounds like fun. However, fear of seeing spoilers means, I can't read forum comments about Heavy Rain, anymore...

can't wait to see how this plays out. I figured the first clue out earlier

i just don't think this game is going to live up to the hype.To me it seems to be no more than a interactive point and click type game.
