Cheats and Walkthroughs

Christian popular culture is like a reflection of regular pop culture through a funhouse mirror. In Christian-World, Kirk Cameron is a huge star, Jars of Clay is a hot music group, and sending money to strangers who browbeat you on TV is a rational decision.
In Christian Pop Culture Land, three year-old, non-violent RTS Left Behind: Eternal Forces is a hot video game, and its success will result in a slew of righteous games rolling out in "mainstream retail outlets throughout 2010." Not only that, the company plans to make religious games for the Xbox 360 and Wii... no mention of the PS3. Sorry, Sony fanboys.
Here's how Left Behind Games describes its recent success:
"There is a substantial market in mainstream retail business for Christian games. Our LEFT BEHIND: Tribulation Forces and Charlie Church Mouse games were completely sold out several days in advance of Christmas. Further, the original three-year old LEFT BEHIND: Eternal Forces game continued to show life as it was distributed in nearly every Target Store in America, demonstrating that Christian games have longer lives."
So look for a bunch of new God-centric video games in the next year or so, brothers and sisters!
A brief, sort-of related note: Any time I blog about anything remotely Christian, no matter how sensitive I try to be, I catch a lot of flack for "making fun" of Christianity, but I'm seriously not. I'm not mocking Christians, the Bible, or Jesus. I'm poking fun at the man made junk that surrounds Christianity. The terrible cartoons, bad movies, half-assed video games and obvious hucksterism is funny, no matter who you worship. Kirk Cameron is funny. Charlie Churchmouse is funny. Christians' heartfelt defense of their comparatively crappy and derivative entertainment products is funny, and a little sad, too. I have great respect for Christianity and Christians. Although I worship the great and terrible Cthulhu (may His name never be spoken), I am tolerant and respectful of all religions. I wish Christians were being served with Art that is as great and formidable as their religion. With the exception of Mel Gibson films, the Christian entertainment I've seen is simplistic drivel. Let's hope whatever Left Behind comes up with is worthy of Christian gamers.

Your comments in this area are as insulting as they are ignorant.

At least this game is optional, unlike the crap seen and heard in public and on SOME Christan broadcast systems. I could very much live without the actual crazies that out in public lurking to convert and or indoctrinate a person into their religion. They tend to do the same going door to door. Little kids getting pamphlets about "god" instead of candy on Halloween. There are (again meaning some or an actual group of) Christians who take not being able to convert people so seriously they turn on the persecution complex water works, that is so annoying.

I have no trouble bashing christians or any "believers" for that matter, preferably with a big stick.
Christians are simply the most powerful and evil force in this world.
Thats right, I am not content to just let them do their thing. Its time to stop humoring these guys, they aren't playing around, why should we?

I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE! Just because a bunch of wacko Christians make a crappy game(and think it's good non the less*HA!*) Doesn't mean you have to bash the entire religion. There are regular people Christians too, unfortunately the ones who: Try to shove our religion down peoples throats(figuratively and literally), drunkenly stagger around with a Bible screaming about the end of the world like a hobo on PCP, and wear horrible beards and Crocs telling you that Jesus wants you to send him money "for the children" are the ones that make the news and are permanently seared into your memories. Just lay off alright? I think this is a terrible idea too.

I forgotten about the company/game until I read this story and saw that Sterling McGarvey mention saying if this were to be a If it's a port of the atrocious PC game port. Then I paused and was like ah bleep, I forgot there was story mentioning of a Biblical video game months back. I thought it was suppose to be for the console and not the PC. I guess the only thing I can say is: it's a good way to attract people to take a look into Christianity. I myself would just pass on this game and any other religious text and video games. LEFT BEHIND: Eternal Forces came under serious criticism from a website call Talk to Action and secularists and many others.

Well let's see Mary got pregnant but not from her husband. Oh it must be god's divine power of course. Oh wait every scientist in the world says darwinism, not creationism or intelligent design. Cmon, lets use our brains and quit getting stiffled by this brainwashing garbage they pollute the world with. At least I'm not with a religon where the speaker of my life doesn't say things like the Haiti earthquake happened because doesn't like vodoo. True story right from the lips of old Pat Robertson himself. Don't bash the athesists you silly bible bangers, this game just stinks.

Idk 'bout an RTS Christian game..
..and it only sold out 'cuz of all the Christian parents trying to look for alternative games that they could give to their kids that are clamoring for videogames to play.
That game, and it's developer - Left Behind Games - has a lot of competition to deal with against Bayonetta, Darksiders: Wrath of War, & Dante's Inferno. Just saying.
But on the other hand, if they can deliver a proper presentation and execute it just right, then they just might do well. Stories in the Bible have a lot of untapped potential, and could do very well if done right.
[i.e. Action-Adventures, RPG's, Hack & Slashers, Platformers, & et cetera]
They might wanna ask for some assistance from Bethesda Softworks though...

With the growing amount of games pushing atheist agendas down everyone's throats(i.e. games like AC II).. what the hell is it to anyone that a Christian game be released?

Publishing a statement about religion or politics in a forum where there is little barrier (that being an email address and the ability to type/read) to publish a response is always a risky proposition. While you don't overtly deride religion, your mocking, yet playful tone and statements are likely to be misinterpreted and overblown. Perfect fodder for trolls and christians who can't take a joke.

A game about the apocalypse, but with serious bible banging overtones. "Hey Billy I know we told you Santa doesn't exsist, but Jesus does!"
