Electronic Arts announced today that it is releasing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 this June. Tiger will also be featured in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Online, which will start open beta tomorrow. Online Tour will be "multi-tier subscription" based, and is described as an "authentic and feature-rich golf video game experience available through a web browser, with no game installation, no disc, and no additional peripherals required."
No real details have been revealed about the PGA Tour 11, other than that it will appear on the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and iPhone, but until updates are announced, I'd expect more of the Tiger Woods' formula you remember from PGA Tour 10: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
As faithful readers of TheFeed know, this announcement settles a bet. I recently cemented a wager with Patrick "Scoop" Klepek over EA's relationship with Tiger Woods. I bet the company would drop the scandal-plagued athlete from the cover/title of their PGA Tour games, starting in 2011. Klepek was like "no way." The loser agreed to play the entirety of Rogue Warrior on the PS3.
I'm a big enough man to admit when I've lost, so at some point this weekend, I will play Rogue Warrior... and dammit, I'm going to enjoy it. Immediately upon completion of the game, I will be checking myself into a gambling addiction detox facility. Clearly, my gambling problems are out of hand and negatively affecting my life and the lives of my loved ones. Let my downward nightmare spiral of hopelessness be a lesson to all of you: Don't make a bet if you can't handle the payout.

Hey Scoop, I recommend that you also read the actual 'Rogue Warrior' book. It might ease your pain a little. It makes me sad that the game sucks :(

I hope they apply the new upcoming motion controllers for the 360 and the PS3 to PGA Tour 11. That would give the Wii a run for it's money.

Don't sweat it, Mr. Johnson. If Mr. Klepek gives you any flak about it, just remind him that he pussied-out of finishing 'Splosion Man. Also, next time you bet, wager him a complete play-through of OneChanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers... you know- just to up the ante for sweet, sweet vengeance.
