Gamers (like myself) are really looking forward to God of War III. But what happens after God of War III is released and the trilogy started with the original game has concluded? As one might easily guess, that doesn't mean the end of the series. God of War is going to live on after God of War III is released.
"This is not the end of God of War," said Sony Santa Monica director of product development John Hight to Gamervision at a recent God of War III event. "This is definitely the end of the trilogy, but we're gonna continue to do God of War games. We're gonna be very careful about what we do. We're the keepers of the franchise and we don't want to see it ruined or polluted."
That's...not surprising.
Here's a question: should Kratos remain the main character?

I TOO knew that there would be another God of War but God of War without Kratos,it's like cake and ice cream,cake tastes good by it self,but it's evemn better with the ice cream!!

I can't believe none of you can figure out the next GOW game....GOW4 will be a long 9 month battle of Kratos' sperm traveling up the fallopian tube to inseminate an egg and then battle the many foes inside the mother's uterus

That was a stupid question. Should Kratos remain the same? U think anyone would be playing this game relentlessly if it wasn't for the savage nature of Kratos? Dude I can still remember the moment I 1st stepped onto that boat and whipped out those blades, then a few seconds later that Hydra burst outta now where. EXHILARATING!!! My mind was blown. I love this game.

Maybe they will finally make a game off of the idea that it's a thousand years later and explorers are in side Pandora's temple, that would be a good game, smockin gorgons with my gat! lol

how how about a son maybe? a demigod would be a perfect break off and kratos can stay in the story and still introduce something completely new

Closure for Kratos, bring in a new bad ass. As for the port of Chains of Olympus, I'm all for that as well. If they price it at 15 or 20 and throw in a port of Betrayal (OR......make Betrayal into a PSP mini and give a code for it in every copy of the CoO port) and they'll have my cash.

Depending on how they end GoW3, I could see how Kratos' story can continue. If I remember right, the main story is about Kratos wanting revenge on Zeus and now he's storming Olympus. What if not all the Gods help? I mean, Hades could be one that doesn't participate in the battle, but wants to reclaim Kratos's soul for escaping death. Or possibly Kratos fighting the Titans for dominion of Olympus.

I love GOW and can't wait for GOW3. I believe either the new series will have another greek figure like hercules and follow his adventures or even create a new character in the greek metholgy. Also like could switch GOW to something like Roman metholgy and you play as Mars or a new character. I am hoping for the best maybe even switching the genre or gameplay and making it open world or something.

Notice how they said end of the trilogy. I don't think they mean that Kratos will be replaced like most of you are assuming. To me, it seems their will just be an entirely new plot. Thus far, it has all been about Kratos vs. The Gods. If he defeats them, then he'll need a new goal as a new Titan leader of the world. Maybe GOWIV would be about world domination or something. Honestly, I have know idea though it all depends on how GOWIII ends.

This is such a tough question...Ever since God of War dropped all i immediately fell in love with it. The character, the battles, the smooth and simple controls, everything about it was flawless. Then GOWII came into play and i think i jizzed my pants. Multiple weapons, awesome magic powers, even more iconic landscapes and boss battles, the shear scale of the game was jaw dropping. Then...GOWIII's first trailer, Zeus's voice (impossible not to recognize). Thunder and lightning in the background...rubble and broken pillars lye all around...Then the camera shows a shadowy figure standing atop a structure..."IN THE END..."...pause...zoom in on Kratos' face and hear the words that send chills up you spine..."THERE WILL BE ONLY CHAOS!"...fade out to the God of War III logo. Finally came the GOWIII playable demo...

Personally I think they should do some sort of version of God of War with the Egyptian gods or something like that.

Since many Halo haters bashed Bungie for wanting to make another Halo game past Halo3, It was always going to be interesting to see how hypcritical they would be after GOW3 was done.
Well I say if a game is good make more.
HOWEVER, if a game sucks, aka MADDEN, please stop making it ASAP!

Maybe they should do Egypt Mythology or Norse Mythology in which the main character will try to kill The Sun God Ra or the Norse God Thor.

It would be balsy to not include THE God of War of this series in the fourth game, but it would be cool if you end up fighting Kratos at the end. I didn't mind Nero in Devil May Cry 4, so I'm OK if the developers pull a switcheroo.
