The PSP version of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, currently slated for release in Japan at the end of February, will be getting a US release in March! Happy day!
The game, which is already out in the US for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, will get some enhancements in its trip to the PSP. There will be an all-new "Legion" mode, which tasks gamers with capturing territory and recruiting new fighters to their army.
From the press release:
“Every frame of animation and hit box is painstakingly replicated from the original game, so all of your combos work without a hitch. It's really nice when you need your BB fix on the go," says Michael Manzanares, Project Lead. "And new Unlimited versions of your favorite characters don't hurt, either."
BlazBlue was one of my favorite fighting games last year, second only to Street Fighter IV, and I'm a big fan of fighting games on the PSP. Now all we need is for Aksys to announce a US console release for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift. If you just can't wait for Arc System Works fighting on your PSP, check out Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, which is available now.

I love blaze blue but unfortunately I have a 360 and I hate fighters on it...Thank whatever god you worship that its porting to the PSP...great for fighters! Just not sure how I'll afford it with all the other great titles coming out around this time...

Dammit, I don't have a PSP.

FAIL! it won't sell for 2 reasons! 1) everyone will be playing blazblue on 360/PS3. 2) the psp SUCKS!

I've completed Calamity Trigger on PS3, but the combos on that were hard enough. I can't imagine trying to pull some of them off on my tiny little PSP Go buttons. Fighting games are hard on the PSP Go; something I've come to find while playing FF Dissidia.

This would be great news to me if I hadn't spilled soda on my psp. Now the buttons are sticky, and fighting games would not be a good idea lol.

What would be REALLY nice is if they would release that legion mode as DLC for 360 an PS3. It would be kind of lame to have a portable version have more capabilities than a full $60 console version

This is awesome news!

Very intriguing. I've wanted to try out a fighting game on my PSP 2000 and I definitely liked BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger on the PS3, so this is pretty awesome.
I was thinking about purchasing the $4.99 Guilty Gear game that's a 2-in-1 deal, but saw Accent Core Plus. It probably doesn't make much difference and is almost common sense, but which game would be better for me to get my feet wet with???
