Yesterday, it was revealed that Nintendo has stopped shipping its Wii collection Metroid Prime: Trilogy. And while Nintendo hasn't exactly clarified that whole situation, it did offer some comforting news for fans of the acclaimed series today.
"The next highly anticipated offering in the Metroid franchise is Metroid: Other M, which will be available this year," said Nintendo in a statement.
This is by no means a new revelation, but it does mean that Nintendo plans to deliver three major titles this year: Super Mario Galaxy 2, the new Wii Zelda game and Other M. I’m not convinced that we’ll be seeing all three titles this year here in the states, but anything’s possible. And it would be insane if they were able to pull it off.
Do you think Nintendo will end up sticking to its release schedule? If one of these three games were to slip into 2011, which one do you think it will be?

Yes but what Big N really needs to do it make a GOOD Star Fox and F-zero on Wii

They better make it happen to make up for the past 3 crappy years

I agree with you, the only game I've been playing is the new Super Mario Bros, and is not even new considering is been out a while. I don't know but don't you think they should ante up and man up on the good games in Greatest hits? It should be that time and with the announcement on these new titles, what in th world are they waiting for? I wanna buy the old Zelda one(Twilight Princess) but $50 still? I love Nintendo and give em props and love but I'll rather buy a "hardcore" game that's on the PS3 or 360 and I don't even play the 360 anymore.
I agree though, these games should have that appeal to it and I think they will. I like casual games because they are simple, the simple of the simplest. Is easier and flexible but a lil hardcore or action could be nice and Nintendo has yet to produce any of that. They are inconsistent but I think is safe to say that this is their plan all along. I think is obvious as of now.
I'm happy these new games are coming out, I am but they're pretty much regressing, they're going back to what they know they're good at and hopefully, can raise the level a whole lot more.
I like those games but I think they need to ante up a bit, that's my opinion.

It would be very surprising to see Nintendo's big three come out this year. With all that we have seen from the new Metroid and the new Mario game it is easy to say that they will come out this year. As for the Legend of Zelda game I am feeling they are trying to hype the game up more by letting us see less of it at first. I can see it easily being out for holiday of this year if it comes out this year.

Being a major Nintendo player up until recent years, I can say, without a doubt, if any of these three titles will be pushed back, it will be the latest Zelda. Of the last few console titles for this series, I can recall that both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess were both pushed back, and I'm sure there were others that I just don't recall, including a rumor I once heard that OoT was originally to be an SNES title, but that's hear-say and possibly false.
To be honest, I am looking forward to these games, in part because if these titles don't appeal to me, then I've lost faith in Nintendo. The Wii has become a mecha of the bland and yes I'll say it, casual. Tired of this, tired of this trend. I know they are a business who's ultimate goal is staying afloat, but their new marketing strategy is the reason why I became a multi-console gamer and purchased my 360, which I've been very happy with. Now the 360 and PS3 have jumped the "motion bandwagon" and I shutter to see the trend repeat.
I beg you, Nintendo, and if you have a "brain" in your "collective head" over there, you will make sure that these games will prove their right to stand along side their past installments. At the very least, Zelda better be worth it, because I'm already skeptical of Galaxy 2, because in truth the first was fun and okay, but the fact I've had little desire to play it over again means something, at least to me.
Thoughts?

Metroid:other m
Super Mario Galaxy 2
New Zelda
Other M will probably come out this year.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 is not going to bomb, but not goty. Hopefully the create larger planets to mess around on. I hope they create a better last boss than the first one.
New Zelda? Thats awesome, I need another console zelda. Anyone guess wii motion plus controls?
SkylerZio
I agree unanimously with everything, everyone else says here.
TGamer5
I don't think I can afford all of that PLUS Project Natal, and any other good games that come out this holiday.

It's not like Nintendo has much of a choice, they need all their big players out this year for sure. I doubt they'll let any of them slip into next year. If you look at time wise, Zelda has had the most work time, and Mario and Metroid have had a year less, plus there's a whole new team on Metroid. It's a lot more likely that Metroid would be pushed back.
DPsx72
I'll have all 3 before long. Can't miss Nin's games, especially in their 3 biggest titles. PS3 also has a pretty good year coming so I'll certainly be on the look out for sales.
Too bad the other box kiddies have nothing to brag about.
Tahu5
I'm not a big Zelda fan so I don't care much for it. Super Mario Galaxy 2 I'll buy (if it doesn't bomb.)
Metroid: Other M I want, but I'm kind of hoping they would delay it so they'll have more time to work on it and iron it out.
Tmidiman
Wow a lo of people here know Nintendo's game. They show a game this year and it comes NEXT YEAR. I wouldn't be surprised if Zelda and another game slip to 2011 or even 2012.
Besides with so much coming out for the 360 it doen't really matter what Nintendo does anymore.
dinohunterx
I hope they stick to the schedual on other M, and the new Zelda, but I haven't heard or seen nothing on Zelda other than the picture of Link with that ghost-looking girl, so I won't be suprized hearing that one moved.
V_Translanka
Maybe after Other M they'll do Metroid Series Complete compilation with Wii versions of Zero Mission, a remake of Return of Samus, Super Metroid, the Primes & Other M? Or maybe just an original trilogy DS remake compilation? Please, Nintendo?
g4fan247
I agree with everyone above about a new Zelda game coming in 2011.
chelmer
Zelda hands down. i never really expected Zelda to be out until 2011 anyways. It's hard to think that Nintendo could release a "perfect" Zelda game in 2010 when it didn't have anything more than a picture to show off at e3. but everything inside of me hopes that i'm wrong.
Latinkid2791
It would be Legend of Zelda. Only because thats the game that I just recently heard of again since a few years ago. Besides they want that game to be perfect (as said by another one of your articles). A great man once said that game delays are a good thing. As long as the game does not disappoint I'm okay on when it is released. There are so many games this year anyways.
DJOmega6
Zelda would be most likely to slip. No one has even seen a screen shot yet, plus Nintendo isn't known for being the most punctual company in the past. If there is a bright side, good things come to those who wait.
turdkills
I would expect the new Wii Zelda game to slip into 2011 due to the fact that Reggie Fils-Aime said that the game had to be perfect upon its release.
