There have been plenty of great games released in 2009, but as the year finally comes to a close, it's time to look forward. 2010 looms and unlike previous years, there will be no lull in the first few months. The series of delays from 2009 mean the 2010 will be kicking off with a bang and the Feedback crew -- Adam Sessler, myself, Abbie Heppe and Andrew Pfister -- decided to spend New Years Eve (we're that dedicated, friends) discussing their most anticipated games of next year.

Feedback -- The Games of 2010 Edition »

In this episode of Feedback...

  • I discuss a recent hands-on session with one of 2010's earliest AAA releases, Mass Effect 2, and how BioWare is actively addressing the issues that hurt the original.
  • Adam and Abbie have an obsession with Red Dead Redemption. Specifically, horse butts.
  • There's both excitement and apprehension over Team Ninja's collaboration with Nintendo for Metroid: Other M. Will the series become too action-oriented for its own good?
  • And, of course, much, much more...

Feedback, ditching New Years Eve plans to talk about games because we're crazy. Please, subscribe.

A game that i was craving more after i finished the campaign was Infamous. I wanted more creative powers, more missions, and just a longer campaign.(Their are still trophies to get, that are very creative and, having me stay up late nights trying to get them.) The story was very good with many twists that kept your hands glued to the controller. But, on the other hand Could there be an Infamous 2 trailer next E3? Is this one of the games that is secret this year?

Andrew's excitement at the recitation of "BONERJAM". That was the highlight of the show.

"I've been waitin' all show for this!" Funny as hell.

Darksiders is what I'm looking forward to right now. It looks like an awesome title right out of the gate and a great way to start the year.

Feedback has quickly become a favorite of mine. The insight, intelligence and wit with which games and the gaming industry are discussed is a huge draw (in an Age where logic and civil discourse appear on life support, especially on the Web). It's like... well, I get a very NPR vibe, which is a good thing.

Re: New Metroid and Team Ninja -It's refreshing to know I'm not the only one dreading the pandering, fan-service damage that could be done here. Nintendo's certainly spiced up Samus's image from her humble 8-bit origins (Not that I'm complaining; Zero Suit, anyone?), but comparative to other Team Ninja Titles (DOA series, DOA Volleyball, Ninja Gaiden), it's positively tame. Metroid doesn't need overt sexuality or breast physics, nor has it ever, to tell it's story, or to enhance its games (or sell them).

That aside, there is the issues with Ninja's dropping the ball on Gaiden's camera and mechanics. Twice.

Was just wondering why this episode and the last haven't showed up on the RSS / Zune Feed. Maybe I have an old link for the RSS? Anyone?

Actually Matt731 by the time Reach was attacked by the Covenant, the John was the Master Chief. I read the books too and about a few hours after Reach went under attack the Pillar of Autumn launched for Halo.

I have high hopes for Halo: Reach. Class elements would be cool and it would be great if they worked on clarifying the story a bit. Either way, I'm going to play it and I'm hoping it turns out great.

Went though my music collection briefly to see if any other bands can have a stand alone game here are a few: Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton (counting all the bands he has been with and solo work), U2, Iron Maiden/Judas Priest comb disk (Listening to Green Manalishi as I am typing this comment).
I am not a big Zelda fan myself. Like the first two games back in the day....(now listening to Headin Out To The Highway)
I am no longer into fighter games or JRPGs. My skills have eroded since I am closer to 40 then 30 and I just like a couple of JRPGS.
I am not a fan of Nintendo. My first system was an Atari 2600, then bought a Sega Genesis. I had friends who owned a Nintendo system and the games were fun but when I got enough money together I bought a Genesis and never looked back.

I hate to disillusion any fantastical festivals the name Bonerjam may have conjured up, but since Abbie opened the door by explaining the JTHM reference, I feel I should disclose.

Bonerjam is a reference to "The 40 Year Old Virgin." Every year, Paul Rudd's character compiles the best Bonerjams from his porn collection onto a "best of" VHS tape and calls is Bonerjams (insert year here). I believe the one that is prominently featured in the film is Bonerjams '03.

I just realized that my need to disclose this obscure information may have stemmed from watching too much Feedback and being inspired by Adam Sessler.

    Happy New Year!

i would like to know how they're going to handle the cheats in red dead redemption, because i can't see them doing it like grand theft auto and having the guy put it in his cell phone, maybe he'll telegraph the cheats

Love Feedback, it just gives me this sense of joy? I don't know, but it makes me smile.

I love Legend of Zelda, it's partly nostalgia, but i still like them for what they have to offer. Story helps. A lot. Granted, i am getting tired of the Wind Waker style. WW, Four Swords, FS Adventures, Minish Cap (though it fit), then Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. There was even hints of it in Twilight Princess, which bugged me. I am totally looking forward to the new Wii one, though.

Now, it could be they use that art because the games related to them did, PH and ST because Wind Waker, Minish Cap because Four Swords, but i reeeeally hope they move on.

I think this year is split in half, for me. Beginning i'm looking at Mass Effect, and Reach at the end. Don't know when Crackdown 2 comes out, but that too. All the stuff in between, it's nuts.

Chaos Theory had a narrative Co-op that kinda ran parallel to Sam fishers story in the main campiagn. The three agents even talk to each other by way of radio in the Seoul mission.

It would be nice if Halo: Reach took some ideas from the battlefield series, as far as leveling up goes.

Can't wait for Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
