There have been plenty of great games released in 2009, but as the year finally comes to a close, it's time to look forward. 2010 looms and unlike previous years, there will be no lull in the first few months. The series of delays from 2009 mean the 2010 will be kicking off with a bang and the Feedback crew -- Adam Sessler, myself, Abbie Heppe and Andrew Pfister -- decided to spend New Years Eve (we're that dedicated, friends) discussing their most anticipated games of next year.

Feedback -- The Games of 2010 Edition »

In this episode of Feedback...

  • I discuss a recent hands-on session with one of 2010's earliest AAA releases, Mass Effect 2, and how BioWare is actively addressing the issues that hurt the original.
  • Adam and Abbie have an obsession with Red Dead Redemption. Specifically, horse butts.
  • There's both excitement and apprehension over Team Ninja's collaboration with Nintendo for Metroid: Other M. Will the series become too action-oriented for its own good?
  • And, of course, much, much more...

Feedback, ditching New Years Eve plans to talk about games because we're crazy. Please, subscribe.

Hey i have a few questions not really reguarding the feedback. When you guys review your games how do you do it? On a big screen with full 7.1 surround sound or on a smaller screen with headphones?

I think you guys are in denial. In 5 years, everybody will have 3D TV's. I saw an NVIDIA 3D gaming demo at PAX this past year, and it actually works really well, especially for FPS. Personally, I can't wait to play Madden or MLB the show on a 3D TV. Can you imagine a reboot of Shadow of the Colossus in 3D? I just feel like gaming companies will have a much easier time incorporating 3D than they are having with motion control. It just seems like it would be more intuitive for them as they are already building 3D landscapes.

Although 2D games in 3D might also be cool. Remember Wario Land for Virtual Boy?

My first gaming console was the Sega Master System. In regards to the final reader question, I find that none of the modern Mario or Zelda games interest me at all. I respect the history of those franchises and what they mean to gaming but as an "old school" gamer, I find that my tastes in games has changed quite considerably. Older gamers say they enjoy the newer Mario and Zelda games, but deep down inside what they really enjoy is the nostalgia factor. If one takes the nostalgia factor out of the mix, what essentially remains are the same game mechanics of old. Those franchises do well to ensnare new gamers and thus keeping a certain gaming culture alive but they do nothing to push gaming to the next level. And while i'm at it, I would also like to add that modern Sonic games reak of suckage worse than the new Mario's and Zelda's. Good day to you all.

@Justin_bristoe Your an idiot. What PS3 exclusives are coming out next year? (That wasn't meant as a rehtorical I want to know...) But honestly, you stupid fanboys thinking G4 is biased yadda, yadda. Just shut up, nobody cares about what you have to say because your WRONG. But is your ego so damaged that you would sit here trying your best to deface the G4 staff, because they didn't talk about "Your console." Grow up. Join the real world get a job and develop a functioning brain you worthless pile. They talked about the games they wanted to play. Apparently there were no PS3 games theat they had the strongest urge to play. Your essenially demonizing them for having an opinion. Look up all the PS3 exclusives and you'll find that almost all of them have fours or fives. Does that make you happy? Or are you going to find some other reason to complain? Your such a.. You know, never mind. Your a waste of space. Just go. Get the hell out.

Is anyone excited about No More Heroes 2? Probably the first good game of the year in my Opinion!

Great show! I anticipate this program weeekly. At any rate, the Genesis was a great console and really gets unjustifiably raked over the coals.

As far as franchises we can't get behind, Halo is my pick. The fiction from the first 2 games resonated with me but after playing some of Halo 3 with my cousin, it highly disappointed. I no longer understand its appeal. Now

Mass Effect 2 is my most anticipated title of 2010. I cannot wait to take Uncle John Shephard into the Terminus Systems and beyond!

Why! why would they do Green Day! Why i loved the Rock Band series. except now it has become so repetitive why don't they just start releasing more mods or expansions of the games they already have.

Just wanted to say Abbey is the number one gamer gal @G4 BECAUSE she recognized Nny aka Johnny The Homicidal Maniac. Yea i know its not really related to games, but she is now my fav gal there =P As a side note, when is there going to be more talk about any Nintendo game? maybe not Nintendo made like Metroid or Zelda, but what about No More Heroes 2 Desperate Struggle or maybe a sequel to Madworld are some examples of new IPs that rocked on a Nintendo console. Is there not a lot to talk about for games on the platform, which I would think would deserve some mention since conversations on the topic would be short, or is there just no more excitement for Nintendo platform games either due to the fact that its ON a Nintendo platform or the games being released on it are not very interesting. I also am aware that Metroid was talked about and Super Mario Galaxy 2 was mentioned, but what about all the other games, if any. Wheres the love for the system I grew up with =/

There is only one Factor that bugs me about Microsoft and its Xbox,

Its that if it came out for the xbox then everyone has it and everyone "loves" it.

I tend to be a lonely gamer and when i play something my imagination drives my mind 100% and makes me feel like I'm living in my dreams, but when i go to school the next day and i hear 20 ppl all say " I F[--beeb--] PWN at Halo, dude" just crumbles my fantasy

Thats kind of why I love [there is no bigger word to express my feelings] The World Ends With You even though it makes me sad that it didn't go super big in sales, Im still happy that the characters and that world is there for me, and its off limits for any unwanted Mind.

    Justin_Bristoe ,

If u were able to appreciate the art of video games [cuz thats what it is art] u would see that the same art does appeal to everyone, [ that is partly why the most famous artists became famous after their death] so if u think that what ur playing is the right thing then keep playing and stick to what u believe is good, but do not bash other ppl for what they believe is good.

I rly admire all this ppl specially Adam and I listen to what they have to say cuz those are opinions, everyone in that show has different point of views and games they like but they talk about the ones they all like in common, u can understand that when u are open to all opinions.

But if it makes u feel any better i play my PS3 more than my Xbox 360,

[still no one beats my wii I'm a sucker for Link & Mario]

Just a personal opinion but I think the reason we go back to the final fantasy series is just because we kind of always know what to expect. We always know that we will at least enjoy ourselves when playing the series. Truth be told I have never been able to beat them. Final Fantasy X I got stuck and was unable to beat the boss. ( i was younger so Stupid i guess). I played Final fantasy X-2 before X actually. Loved that game but didn't beat it cause I saw the ending at my friends house(whom I got addicted to the series in the first place, I let her play kingdom hearts at my place and it was settled then that she would become a game addict. she is hot to which is awesome.) Moving on I never bought FFXI until 3 months ago. got to level 16 then stopped. FF XII got scratched when transporting the game in my ps2 in the airport. They were all fun games and I loved them. So when FF XIII comes out, there is no question, I will buy it and beat the hell out of it to make up for the other games I didn't beat. Looking more forward to versus XIII just because that's my cup of tea. We all know we will enjoy a FF game. Unless you never played them or just didn't like it.
