    Hey Fresh Ink,

Just wanted to say that I love your podcasts and follow them religiously. I love the reviews and Blair is of course wonderful.

I was hoping you could do a review of "Chew" by John Layman and Rob Guillory from Image. It's fantastic and I think when a new series that shows such originality and has the great writing and gorgeous artwork that it does it deserves some recognition. The trade of the first arc just came out and I have waited patiently for a review! I figured you would review for sure as it as reprinted on the flipside of "Walking Dead" and Blair never misses an issue of it. But still no review. Alas...

Please review it and help spread the word on this terrific, weird, and original new series!!

    Thanks!

i just saw the video again and I have to say that I disagree with the comment about The Walking Dead being the only intelligent and emotional comic. Japanese manga has been like that for ages. Just ask anyone who goes to a bokshop, buys the first collected works volume of a manga, reads it, and then proceeds to return and buy every other collected volume on the shelf. That's me for ya. Love ya all.

I don't disagree with Blair, but if you're a big fan of these comics I suggest you read: DEATHNOTE, BERSERKER, and the insane BATTTLE ROYALE. especially BATTLE ROYALE. Can a comic make you feel despair and emotionally afraid to read on? YES!!!

Great Best of list, Blair! Great Job like always! I am going to try very hard to back track and catch up on some of those comics you mentioned. You are so spot on, Blair, with The Walking Dead! Even my 14 year old daughter looks forward to every issue! Thanks and keep up the fantastic work on your vids.

I have been impressed with Hickman and Bendis' run on Secret Warriors and Blackest Night is the best thing Geoff Johns has ever done, and i love Johns, the picks were all pretty good in all. By the way I have watched the podcast since the first Friday and i haven't stopped watching since.

Ok. Most of what she said is good. Secret Six is about the only one on that besides the Sword that i read. I think she overlooked some stuff like: Green Lantern, R.E.B.E.L., GL Corps. There is some amazing stuff coming out of DC now. Also Powers just started back up. There is all the coolness that is being done by Micheal Omeing. Just look around there is alot of coolness to be had. I think Blair needs to look into the pile some more to see all that coolness.

I agree with Blair on all points but one: The Walking Dead miniseries on AMC. The Walking Dead is an exceptional comic, but as a TV series, it has a serious problem:

    *SPOILERS*

At the end of season 2 or 3, the entire cast of characters, with the exception of about 5 or so, die! Average TV viewers may be turned off by this because they grow attached to characters in a TV series. I know I stopped watching The Sopranos when they killed Big P (can't use name cause of profanity filter). I feel like when the series gets to the point after the prison, viewers will drop off. The fans of the comic will still watch, but I have a feeling that if the ratings dip too much after those events, the show could be cancelled faster than a Joss Whedon show on FOX.

As always Blair Butler's comic reviews are, without question, the best on the Net! Accurate, informative, funny, sometimes controversial, but always damn intertaining! I learn something new each time I watch the show, and I watch it religiously.

Her Top 10 picks for 2009 were, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, and DEAD-ON RIGHT! I'm a Walking Dead "Head", myself. Can't wait to see what's in store for 2010, keep up the excellent work Blair!

I just started reading Robert Kirkman's Invincible and I love reading that story(from issue #1 on issue 21). I'm definitely gonna look into Walking Dead. Along with secret Six and Jonah Hex and a lot of other stuff, since I haven't read comics in a while.

Thank you Blair Butler. I was used to only be a small time comic book guy, but I picked up Asterios Polyp because of your recommendation, and now I'm so excited to see what amazing graphic novels I will be having the pleasure of reading in the future.

I love the Walking Dead. I think it deserves to be on the list. I don't read much of the items on your list simply due to monetary restrictions, but I think Batman and Robin should have been on there.

I like the list, but what about Sweet Tooth. Next to the Walking Dead it's my favourite series.

I supremely enjoyed reading walking dead up to issue 40 something, then i took a break from comics for a while. I tried to get back in the series, but it's just not working anymore.

Also, Invincible isn't on the list?
