MAG, the "Massive Action Game" for the PlayStation 3, has "gone gold," and drops on January 26 in North America and Asia, January 28 in Japan, and January 29 in Korea. But that's not the best news. The best news is an open beta will be available tomorrow. According to Zipper Interactive, the game's makers, everyone, in every territory, will be able to take part in the MAG open beta, but North Americans get to play starting tomorrow.
Here's what to do:
- If you're in North America, wait until Tomorrow, December 22.
- Log on to the PlayStation Store (tomorrow) and download the MAG Beta file like you would any other freely-available PSN video or demo (298 MB).
- Launch the MAG Beta program from your XMB to download a special patch that will restart MAG once the update has been received (another 38 MB)
- After the reboot, the beta will reconnect and download the actual game data so that you can play (1.8 GB – 2.3 GB depending on your region)
That's all there is to it. Believe me, it's worth it: The game's massive action involves 256 players engaged in a massive battle. Do sign up, and I promise I'll shoot you (I mean that in the nicest way possible.)

PERFECT!!! LOL. The Bad Company Beta is closing today. So Now I have this awesome game to get my multi-player fix on! YAY! :-)

Yup I mean this is an online only game, if the servers crash the first week then they are screwed and will get horrible reviews.

at least they're taking the effort to do an open beta and see if any problems arise unlike cod mw2 which has countless problems that should have been fixed before the release

That ridiculous an open beta for an FPS. I guess they really want to make sure they've got the server power ready when the games released since its all online.

Oh wait, because publishers and developers just love releasing unfinished games and patching them less than a week later.
Regardless I'm probably going to pick this one up. I didn't like the Bad Company 2 beta very much at all when I played it.

It dosent lag and u know what your supposed to do. But it has such bad graphics that it kills alot of any achievments that its made, it controls are slopy and hard to get used to and after a few hrs of play it gets repetive, & honeslty behond having 256 players it brings nothing new. Im a PS3 supporter and I couldnt wait for this game, but it just sucks compared to things like U2 or MW2

256 players is a nice touch, and there really is very little lag, has less than say MW2. I just hop they made the animations a little smoother.
