Analysts Predict Modern Warfare 2 Will Be Biggest Selling Game Of 2009

According to the company's Twitter account, Infinity Ward is addressing the Modern Warfare 2 infinite ammo glitch, so 360 gamers: Your long national nightmare may soon be over. Right now, the fixes are being tested, so if you actually like infinite ammo, now's the time to get into games!

Here's the tweet:

Update in Test now: 1887s Balanced. Public "private" Match fix. Infinite Ammo fix. Prestige Hack on PS3 fix. Texture Hack on PC fix.

No word yet on when the patch will be released, but I gotta imagine it depends on how well they do in the test. Judging from Infinity Ward's past performance, I'll bet we'll see the fixes quickly.

    i for one enjoy that they are fixing these glitchs/viruses quickly

    the infinite ammo one is a viruses btw


    i hope they do not make a seperate playlist of infinite ammo or 18 player ffa and as for the 1887s dont really care nerfed or not they arnt as game breaking as the other two subjects

    This is what I'm liking about MW2's developers over WaW's. They hear about a complaint/problem from the majority of the gamers and they fix it immediately (1887's). To this day, millions of WaW players wonder why Treyarch never fixed the MP40....

    one of my buddies told me i would be tired of MW2 by xmas i told him heck no . he was right i was tired of it monday night when i got on i got right off but when i got on last night and got sent into a infinnite ammo room it was the most laughs ive had in a while it was the greatest night ive had since the first two weeks . now i did get tired of the too but i say IW should do it at least once every two weeks . or make it a bonues map. i say its about time for new maps or a new weapon pack . and fix the 1887s range thats messed up. P.S. sorry about the spelling.

    why would an article be made for this.why wouldn't they fix this crap. IW good choice not having a beta, i hope this knocks them down on their asses and show they're not as good as they think

    the reason model 1887s have so much range is because it was originaly a 10 guage and all the shotguns in MW2 are 12. with shotgun shells the smaller the guage number the more power and range it will have

    I have no knowledge of what the 1887 was in real life. I just thought it was a magical shot gun that spread deadly buck in a 30-yard radium.

    i hope they move the public private match glitch to it's own play list. i had so much fun playing 18 player free for all on rust!

    What? I ponied up all the dough to get those discount NVG's, and they didn't inform me of that addition! Damn IW guys for not including that in the instruction manual...

    Seems to me you're making the point that in a way they are destroying the 1887, thus ruining something you enjoyed about the gun (i.e. the ability to take someone out from 20-30 yds with a single shot). How are they in any way destroying any of the weapons by fixing the balance? They are doing two things, making the game more balanced so you don't just have a bunch of retards running around the level using the same overpowered weapons and dominating everyone else, and making it more accurate.
    And no, I don't see this as a sign that they will start destroying any weapons because people bitch about it. If it's one or two people, then it is likely a dumb complaint, and nothing will get done. However, when everyone in the community is making noise about it, and it really is an overbalance/unrealistic issue, then change is warranted and it very likely is a valid point. Even then, I don't see any weapons getting "destroyed". As my point was made before, the only thing getting destroyed will be the fun times for all the douchebags who exploited the overbalance.
    Sorry if that's not the overall point you were trying to get at, as it was the one line out of your post, but it's the point I was looking to make and that line kinda encompassed the argument I wanted to highlight. Was not aimed at only you, (lookin at you Yamato101).

    What a retard for not knowing about every glitch that's being fixed as it happens. You should be psychic enough to know these things, even if they are not announced very publicly. You should be dilligent enough to go out of your way to keep up on these things. Maybe go on IW's website/twitter every week just to keep from making a fool of yourself on some message board when you go off about something like the Javelin glitch.
    Thanks for the correction cmdluke. Good one of us is paying attention (actually only being partially sarcastic there too, actually am glad to know that)

    I want you to tell me where i said they should not fix the 87's that was not the subject of my either of my posts. My post was if the community pushed hard enough what would IW change for it. I did say that "87's right now are a bit too much"

    It's funny to hear people defend the 1887's (especially the dual wielding), because you know those were the ones that spent countless matches raping the completely unrealistic abilities of that gun. They are not destroying it, they are fixing it to make it more accurate. Only thing the are destroying are the cheap bastards who will now get pwnd when they try that stupid crap next time in the matches only to find it no longer works at long range.
    And yes, I have had more than a few matches dealing with this. Thanks IW, but you still need to fix the damn Javelin glitch...

    Exactly why the GE guns were not on MP in Perfect Dark They forgot to add them. I agree that the 87's right now are a bit too much (think scorpion in COD4 BETA) however I wonder how far IW can be pushed to "fix" things. I also find it odd how fast they are moving this time it took until April in COD 4 to fix the Sniper Hit boxes

    And yes, the 1887's were ridiculously too powerful, especially those dual wielding bastards. Shotguns are close range weapons, period. There is no way, no matter how many you are wielding, that you should be able to take somoene away with a shotgun, with a single shot, from 20-30 yards away. Tired of retards running willy-nilly around the level with marathon and that light weight perk on just blasting at people with those.

    its just like mmo's. games get patches when things aren't balanced correctly. thats how the gaming industry works. its a beautiful thing if you think about it. before everything was online, you couldn't get fixes for balance issues like that.

    Can't say for sure, for obvious reasons, but I imagine the chaos that's being felt out there with this infinite ammo glitch is probably akin to the chaos that the eastern seaboard would see were we actually attacked the same way it happens in the game. In some sort of digital/virtual sense or something like that.
