I must say that I'm a little disappointed that Dragon Age didn't get best RPG, but other than that though, I have to agree with most results. Good show G4.

Every year not only is it obviouse what theyre gonna pick, but they always pick the game that doesnt truelly desurve it. Modern warfare 2 is better then Uncharted, Fallout 3 is better then Fable 2, Halo 3 and Call of duty 4 are both better then bioshock. Over 30,000 people are playing CoD 4 right now, I bet theyre are 5 people playing bioshock. I've played every game accept AC 2 on x plays "short list" and I think they're all better then Uncharted 2. Come on guys, pick the games that deserve it. I garentee that Uncharted wont win at gphoria.

Why is it that the comments that say Uncharted 2 didn't deserve game of the year all get voted down?
Are you people that opposed to other opinions? I personally was rooting for Infamous. Time has not been kind to my relationship with Uncharted 2.
Oh, and Mario and Luigi = good pick for rpg of the year, in my opinion. And I'm glad they picked a game that wasn't expected to win in that category.

Brutals legend got two awards...that game sucks: the soundtrack are ripped from metal bands, the graphics are cartoonish and the RTS gameplay is REALLY basic. Plus I bet is was voted BIAS by mrs. webb

Ok what in the world are they thinking...giving best RPG to a Mario Game. Honestly from what that says the people at G4 have more fun playing Mario and Luigi Bowsers Story than Dragon Age Origins or Demon Souls! Everyone on the comments thinks Dragon Age is better why not these guys

BOOH! Ezio was way better the brutal legend ahole , and i have played uncharted 2. AC2 was soo much better than it. Assassins's Creed 2 for Game Of The Year!!!

Welll not a bad list. RPG winner was a bit of a joke and Brutal Legend was pretty ugly to win for art direction. Borderlands wasnt very original either. A shooter with loot drops...ok. Otherwise I liked the list. Anyone that played Uncharted would have a hard time arguing against it. Heres to less games getting pushed back in 2010. (Thankfully its a Treyarch year).

I can't say I'm surprised with Uncharted 2 winning. It really is one of those rare games that give you a sense of adventure. It seems the only people that hate it are the ones that haven't played it.

I agree with the selection of Uncharted 2 as game of the year. There are other deserving games, but Uncharted 2 has many things going for it. Even if the story was crappy, this game looks gorgeous. I am looking for more great games going forward.

Honestly anybody that didn't realize Uncharted 2 was going to win GOTY months ago is an idiot. It's one countless awards constantly at pretty much every gaming event this year.

YES!!! x play got it right 2 years in a row now. last year with fable II and this year with uncharted 2. very happy with the results of that. the only problems i would say is the whole sports category was a joke. the 3 best sports games weren't even nominated IMO (UFC 09, NBA 10, NCAA 10) and best DLC didn't even have the fable II DLC which was great.

only thing i really didnt like was batman or assassins creed 2 didnt win anything. also best rpg should have been dragon age origins, best new character ezio easily. but these are my opinions just like the winners are x-plays opinions even though fanboys will still complain on both sides. pretty much all the games are good in there own way. except when i was playing brutal legend i would play it for a while but really didnt feel an urge to pick it right back up not like with other games i just go through them.. halfway through it became boring legend to me it just felt tedious to me even though i did beat it and enjoy the music.

MW2... "polished online options".... LMAO more like the buggiest game of 2009, how many patches are we up to now and it's still not fixed!
And... "best multi-player" as well? It would be if coding had been actually tested in a beta before release... I'm not saying it's a bad game BUT with all the issues with this game I just don't see how it can be the best multi-player experience out of all the candidates?
G4 must really have low standards to award MW2 with best multi-player! It amazes me how MW2 & Gears 2 get a pass with all the issues with multi-player but other games get raped for similar problems? It's a wonder why gaming journalists are losing credibility these days!
There seems to be a bias double standards on almost ever gaming site out there... which is why these yearly gaming awards hold as much validity as an honest politician.
Bottom line: at least pick something that actually works.... I don't care any of the other nominees, pick one out of a hat if you have too!

I'm about to deploy very soon and I have been drinking this Crown an Coke. And since I have the chance to holla at you guys at G4 I just wanna say that G4 is absolutely without a freakin doubt the best network on television!!! I am gonna miss you guys so much for the next year. They do play AOTS from time to time on the Armed Forces Network (AFN) but I won't be able to check you guys out on the regular. Thank God you have a website. Keep it up.

Another thing, if you are wondering why I had a bad time with Uncarted 2 it was because it was a third person shooter. I didn't like Gears of War because of it and I don't think they will grow on me anytime soon. Sorry about such a long post.
