Sony Motion Controller Was Codenamed Gem

Sony Motion Control

We know that Microsoft's motion controller is called "Project Natal" (for now), but up until today, we have had nothing to call Sony's motion controller. Thankfully that is about to change. At a recent gathering of investment analysts, EA CEO John Riccitiello called the motion controller "Gem."

Gem isn't necessarily the final name for the product; According to Sony Computer Entertainment of America director of communications Patrick Seybold (speaking to Kotaku) it  was "an early code name" for the device. "We haven't announced final name at this point,"  Seybold said.

Codename: Gem is planned for launch in the spring of next year.

I think Gem is a workable name for the device, and in the event that it is the final title for the product, I will be satisfied. In the meantime, I'm happy to not have to refer to Gem as "Sony's motion controller," because, hey, I'm lazy like that.  What do you think of the name Gem for Sony's device?
