In case you have been hitting refresh on your browser every six seconds to see if there’s been any announcement about the "winter" release date for Rare’s Xbox Live Arcade remake of its classic N64 title Perfect Dark, you can take a break for a few weeks.
Rare confirmed via Twitter that the reworked sci-fi first-person shooter will be released in "early 2010," which, as Rare points out, “is still ‘winter’, stop moaning." Man, Rare cuts deep.
I’m looking forward to playing through Perfect Dark again though, if for no other reason than to see if my memories of despising the final alien levels were justified.

Finally I get to revisit the 'Villa' - One of the greatest shooter maps constructed. So it's early 2010 already com with it already.
Feenin' for the flavor of a mixed bot match.
But if there is an extra wait time for the graphic rendering to have dynamic lighting or anything of the like. Then by all means take your time and hurry up.

Thanks for posting the release date, I swear it was bugging me to no end. I was hoping for a December release, but oh well. Guess I'll just keep reading the books & comics and do a few Team Killcount rounds on Perfect Dark Zero.

I just took a look at the photos of the updated graphics engine. The skedar have never looked freakier.

I've never played this game, despite being a huge Rare fan. I'll see if I like the demo before I download the whole thing. I've heard good things though.

I'll have to download this, since I didn't play that many FPSs (the original Perfect Dark being on of them) during the N64 days.

I hope they update the controls, playing it again after new FPS's make me appreciate dual analog... and perhaps a better frame rate, multiplayer with bots was caused some issues.

my friends and i wasted our entire senior year of high school playing the multiplayer in this game. Nothing quite like hunkering down in a corner with your laptop gun set as a turret outside the door. good times.

I was a huge fan of Goldeneye but never got around to playing this (mostly due to not being old enough to buy an M-rated game at the time), so thanks Rare for putting this out on XBLA.

this is gona be awesome. perfect dark for n64 was one of the best games on the system granted you had a expansion pak to play the story mode. no expansion pak required for the xbla version.
