It might be called Borderworlds, it might not, but there should be no doubt that Take-Two Interactive is interested in partnering with Gearbox Software on a sequel to Borderlands.
Take-Two said Borderlands was on the cusp of becoming a powerful franchise for the publisher on their last financial call and Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick reiterated his confidence in Borderlands at the UBS 37th Annual Global Media and Communications Conference today.
Zelnick said Borderlands "looks like another terrific franchise" for the company and confirmed Take-Two has "longterm publishing rights to sequels to Borderlands."
Any official details on Borderlands 2 are likely many months away, but Take-Two continues to be unabashed in admitting it wants to move forward with Borderlands 2 as soon as possible.

Customizable weapons, if the sequel doesn't have this I am probably not going to get it. Cause there is nothing like playing for hours looking for a better 4x fire damage smg and not getting squat.
More or less that was my only real big issue with the game, still hoping something along the lines of that is going to come DLC....maybe just maybe we will have a Christmas miracle

hopefully they really take into account gamer feedback before they make borderlands2. It was a good game but there was a lot it was missing. gearbox should take a page out of ac2's book and ask the fans a whole lotta \"what was missing for you?\" questions

Borderlands ruled, the new look as well as the ever flowing weapons, sure it has a pretty fast paced game with even 4 different characters to play as that are very very different allowing for no less then 4 different playthroughs. But for \"Grinder Games\" this one is both good and different, sure Fallout and Oblivion are what most want and do compare too, but this one should be compares more with Killsone 1 & 2 and other first person shooters and one that note this ones, size, freedom and random 17 million plus weapons make it a good deal for 3 little 20's not too mention the DLC one out now, funner and bigger then Left for Dead 1 or 2, and another DLC on the way in the next month or so this game as plenty of room to evolve. Bebopdragon on the PS3 network hit me up~ Dragons of the Black

It's so nice to finally see a publisher not worried about leaking information or hiding things. The game was good, and successful and they want the word out that a sequel is coming as fast as possible. Great philosophy.

Borderlands BLEW badly, the shooting aspect was awesome, but everything else sucked, from the car controls(I expected to drive about 20 diiferent vehicles)
and I also expected one giant landscape, like Fallout 3. The tv set thing was a lame way of adding a buttload of loading screens.
I'm tired of the whole \"cell shading\" look,were not playing Nintedo 64 anymore,come on......bring the graphics,or go home already!!!
plus the game bugged out on me on my first try....way lame
this game is in the \"Two Worlds\" catagory to me,
along with Sacred 2,and Dragon Age:Origins
can ANY GAME keep up graphically with Assasins Creed 2?
I'm doubting it...seriously...

I loved Borderlands. I'd rather just have DLC for awhile. No need to rush to make another disc.

I love Borderlands and it's definitely worth 60 bucks, but for Borderlands 2 then need a lot more end game content to keep people playing it for months. I'm glad Take-Two is being open about it. I never understood why video game developers and publishers are so quiet on announcing games they already plan to make or are currently making.

I still have yet to get it, but it does look awesome.

The game was awesome....for about a month. Once you play through the game once, it's only fun if your friends want to play too and when you get to 50, it's like \"What now? Weapon farm for the rest of my life?\". Plus, it sucks when none of your friends play it anymore after October passed. I played the game for about 10-15 hours and I was done with it. There isn't a whole lot to do in that game. I thought we were going to be able to mod weapons but nope. I'll pass on any sequels.

i wasn't crazy about this game either.. it was fun for a little, but there was no driving element that made me want to go on to the next mission not to mention how easy it all was...With DLC i hope it is a while before we see a sequel. In brief response to nightshade, i too spent 100+ hours in fallout 3 but don't consider borderlands to be a post apocalyptic environment, can't wait for Rage.

I've never played borderlands yet but I heard it was ok, but I'll need a little more convincing before I spend $60 on a game

I'm just afraid that Borderlands 2 would turn into a junky rush job.
Nightshade386
Eh, this game did nothing for me. In my defense, I'm a little burnt out on the whole post-apocalyptic thing after putting 100+ hours into Fallout 3. I didn't really enjoy the limited time I spent with this game, and I'm pretty wary of Rage for much the same reason.

Right now Gearbox is really busy working on Aliens Colonial Marines and a few other projects. I could wait a while for Borderlands 2, i still need to finish Borderlands 1! Plus i wans Aliens CM sooner than later!

The game is good but they'll need to fix/change quite a few things if they want me to buy a sequel.
