Tecmo’s heavily Gears of War-inspired, third-person shooter Quantum Theory has now gone from originally being a PC game, to a PlayStation 3 exclusive, to now being a multiplatform release. Tecmo announced today that its sci-fi action title in which players must blast their way through an ever-changing Living Tower will, in fact, be released on the Xbox 360, as well as the PS3, next spring.
Previously, the game’s developers have been quoted on several occasions as saying that the game’s PS3 exclusivity was tied to that console’s power and technical capabilities. Perhaps the less than favorable word-of-mouth the game has received up to this point convinced Tecmo that it might be a good idea to find a way to get it up and running on Xbox 360, too.
Or maybe they just realized Gears of War fans would be more likely to gravitate to a Gears of War clone (see: Dante’s Inferno and God of War). Either way, Xbox 360 fans...congratulations?

ok i have a PS3 and i have to say this is not RIP OFF this is a copy of what i have seen so sorry but think of a new game and give it to us thank you. As 360 have gears and PS3 don't wont gears or we would have 360 NOT A ps3. and id anyone else pissed off about this blatant copying or is it just me

BTW I have both a PS3 and a 360 so this isn't some Gears fanboy ranting. Personally i didn't like Gears all that much until the 2nd one came out.

Gears clone? More like rip-off. It almost looks like they took B-list Final Fantasy characters,guns, and the Unreal 3 engine, threw them all in a blender, and out came an action game cliche flavored smoothie. This one will maybe get a rent from me next year... probably not though.

I don't think many Gears of War fans will enjoy this simply because they do look so much alike. I don't want to take anything away from the game because they are different in many ways, though the point of having this a PS3 exclusive was the idea of having a counter part of Gears for PS3 owners.

Who actually cares? This game looked like meh from the start. It was weird that it was an PS3 exclusive.

I jus got my PS3 three days ago & after owning my 360 since January, I can't believe I was hating so much on the PS3 cause after playing it for just 3 days I got way more out of it then 11 months of my 360... Don't get me wrong I love both of them but the PS3 takes the cake...

I guess that was a good idea, although I don't believe the new direction for the game is gonna equal sells in the long run. Most 360 fans are going to view this as a Gears of War rip-off, and most PS3 owners/fans might shy past it, maybe. I don't think Sony has lost out on anything critical here, it might be a poor choice for Tecmo though.

they know the game sucks and the wheels already rolled so no going back, make it muti cause alot of games sell on 360, this way with cost (when the bad reviews come out) they can break even if not make a small bit of money cause all you dumb s%$#s can be like \"WE HAVE MORE THEN JUST ALAN WAKE THIS SPRING!!! WOOOT !!!! but hey.......can you blame them?? they have family's too.

I own both an Xbox 360 and a PS3. Gears of War 2 and Uncharted 2 have my cover based shooting needs well covered. I doubt if this game will be more than a rental for anyone but PS3 enthusiasts. I can understand the move to multiplatform, though. Besides Resident Evil 5 and Metal Gear Solid 4, when's the last a Japanese developed game that's not on the Wii made a blip on western radars. Japan is dead.

I was looking forward to a TPS but since it's multiplat I've lost some interest since it tends to be that lesser devs skimp on the PS3 version and do it shamelessly. I'll wait for a review and then decide whether I'm going to burn a work shift.

Easy guys. This game wouldn't have sold well even if it was a ps3 exclusive just because it is a direct rip off. Nobody should want to play a game that is put together simply because the system dosen't have a game like gears. I own all 3 systems and while I love my exclusives like halo and mass effect, I do think that the 360 is really not much better than the wii with the way it just throws out games. The exclusives on the 360 really don't hold a candle to the ps3 ones. You won't see Killzone, Metal Gear, GT 5, and Uncharted on the 360 simply because of the hardware, it will not ever be able to compete with that and these developers are really starting to get familiar with the ps3's hardware. So for all the ps3 fanboy crap, I think its time for the 360 fanboys to start thinking about the fact that you just might not have the best system, sorry.

Phew, glad it's not exclusive anymore! I like how great the quality of recent ps3 exclusives have been and, as a Sony fanboy, i doubt even the greatest of the Sony Defense Force could've put up a good \"This totally pwns gears\" argument.

That was what I thought, why would the 360 fans buy this game when they have the far superior gears of war series, this would have been like playstations cheap knock-off version of that game. Since gears is not coming to PS3 anytime. QT looks like it could be good, but Gears is a proven series, and Gears 3 might not be that far away.
