New Super Mario Bros. Help System Has Real Name:

According to Japanese gaming publication Famitsu (via Kotaku), New Super Mario Bros. Wii has become Japan's fastest selling Wii game ever, selling nearly a million copies in its first week of sale. The previous record holder was Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which sold 816,000 units; NSMB moved 936,734 copies.

Gee, it’s hard to see why Nintendo never strays too far from its proven formulas for its first part Wii games – they have consistently proven themselves popular, and, most importantly, profitable. I wonder if this means a NSMB’s sequel is in the works…(bursts out laughing)…Oh man. I almost lost it about halfway through saying that.

I have NO IDEA how this game is selling so well.
it's the shortest, easiest game ever.
If you need the super guide, you suck.
and man, SO SMALL. I cleared the entire game in two site downs! (with my significant other the entire time, and we got all the stars, and didn't skip any levels.) the only vague challenge was perhaps world 9, but again, SO short!
The power ups were little, and made ineffective by two new items that let you do the same thing really. (the hat and the ice flower/penguin suite.)

The same sound effects, the same characters (overall, with the addition of maybe two new ones really.) - lack of online, lack of complicated levels - for a 50 dollar game I want content content content! LittleBigPlanet is an example of this. why can't I make a mario stage yet? wtf? why does nintendo still treat gamers like children, and judging from the majority of responses up here, get away with murder?! it didn't bring anything new! It was a short, crappy version of the DS game. (which, btw, I play every day. While on the can, or on the bus, or whatever. but I'm A HUGE mario fan!)

    WTF guys.

I really hope this doesn't convince Nintendo to never try anything new. I mean, I'm not saying this is a bad game or anything, but I'd much rather prefer them making something new and original. Super Mario Galaxy was original and look how good it turned out to be.

I guess nintendo's motto is don't fix it unless it's broken

New Mario Bros Wii was freakin' awesome. It wasn't \"too\" easy, and some levels had really well-hidden coins. It kept me playing for a couple weeks, which not many games can do now-a-days. Bring on the next Mario!

There had better be a NSMBWii sequel in the works. Next time with online multiplayer. Epic fail that Nintendo didn't include it.
