Next week's Rock Band releases are nothing if not eclectic. Monster rockers Slipknot and mellow-folk gods Simon and Garfunkel will be locked in battle for DLC supremacy next week. Here are the tracks:
Slipknot
- Duality
- “Psychosocial”
- “Sulfur”
Simon & Garfunkel
- “I Am a Rock”
- “The Sounds of Silence”
Along with these two titanic groups, something called Lights Resolve will be releasing “Dreaming of Love." All tracks are the standard price ($2) and will be available on Tuesday for the 360 and Wii and Thursday for the PS3.
So what do you think -- will you be banging your masked head to Slipnot, or donning a turtleneck sweater and harmonizing to Simon and Garfunkel?

Oh hell yeah!!! like many of you, I was wondering when this day would come. Finally...finally...Simon & Garfunkel on RB. Oh, Slipknot is not too shabby either. Personally would of liked to see \"Vermilion pt.2\" or \"Wait n Bleed\" instead of \"Sulfur\" but not complaining at all.

If you want a really good cover of Simon & Garfunkle's Sound of Silence, try to pick up Ascension of the Watchers - Numinosum. It's a band fronted by Burton C Bell of Fear Factory.

i used to be a slipknot fan but that ended after vol 3. they have way better songs than the these ones.

Wow nice dichotomy there! If there was ever any reason to complain about Rock Band, one thing you could never say about it is that it doesn't offer a wide variety of genres and song styles to play, because this is a perfect example as proof otherwise.

My first thought was they couldn't have picked 2 more opposite ends of the spectrum.
