Splash Damage has high hopes for their ambitious first-person shooter Brink, and all this week we’ll be bringing you exclusive video after exclusive video showcasing some of the ways the game’s developers are hoping to make Brink something truly special.

First up, we have a little walkthrough -- narrated by the game's director, Paul Wedgwood -- that shows off the game’s Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain (S.M.A.R.T.) system, which essentially lets you go all Mirror’s Edge, and maneuver around environments in dynamic and unique ways, all based on your position and immediate need. If that sounds kind of cool, wait until you see it in action.

I'm not going to lie, this preview doesn't wow me. They call this a new system, but as people have stated it's just like Mirror's Edge. Maybe it's just the fact that they're calling this idea and system \"new\" that rubs me the wrong way.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea. Mirror's Edge was one of my favorite games of years' past, and this is a welcome addition to FPS that's been long over-due, but I feel that their boasting should be in polishing the idea and creating a new engine (or whatever it's called) for it. To me it sounds like they're saying they came up with it, and that's just not true.

Regardless, I'll be playing this game. For some reason multiplayer Mirror's Edge (with more guns) had never occurred to me, and it's a great idea. Free-running and killing friends, two of my favorite things. Then again, how could we not expect something great from Bethesda?

not that i mind playing a male character but...
why only male customization? where'd all the women go?

game still looks awesome tho. i like the visuals. very colorful.
i also loved mirror's edge and want a sequel and this looks like the next best thing.

This looks like it could be good! always nice to see new ambitious projects instead of old recycled crap like Darkest of Days.
