What Was Your Best (And Worst) Black Friday Experience?

You know what I did on Black Friday? Nothing. I drank beer. I played Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (which is awesome, by the way)I learned how to play spades (and I'm pretty good). But no doubt many G4 readers decided to brave the cold morning air for a chance at a deal. Were you one of those folks? If you decided to head into the Black Friday crowd, tell me about your best and worst experiences with the crowd and if you actually managed to score a deal. Friends, gather round.

It's story time.

    Worst for me, would be this past one, when I was going to go shopping early. I was going to ask my uncle to take me, but then my mum stepped in and said she would. Well she was out partying all night with her bf, she got home at 5am. let's just say that getting to a store after it opened you won't really find what you wanted, and I wanted the $250 32\" HDTV from Target. But it was sold out after 10 or so mins. ;____;
    I would say best is also this past friday because on my way home from Target, we decided to pass by a Gamestop. I was looking around, then they told me about the PS3 slim bundle(with GoW and LBP). I bought it and have been very happy with it since, though my ps3 is hooked up to my computer monitor instead of an HDTV(I don't have one ;__;)

    I woke up late and went to work for about 5 1/2 hours for a major video game store (hint: alot of developers and publishers do not like them), and our store was relatively dead with and occasional pickup in traffic, which allowed to spend more time with parents who do not know a thing about games.

    Balck Friday
    4am in line at the big box store, you know the one with the big bright painted door
    a winters chill filled the air, frozen fingers but no one cared.

    All night we stood Staring at the door, in hopes it would unlock
    we did not dare move as the line had grew , it ran around a city block

    A broken wrist watch mocked time stood still
    long is the wait in the November night chill,
    a peek of the morning sun was our biggest thrill.

    only to be outdone by the mangers son
    unlocking the doors, and our wait was done!

    the first to arrive ran with a vigorous stride,
    for electronics on sale too big to fit in their compacted ride.

    they push they shoved, it was a big mess
    and some old lady got caught trying to steal a barbie doll dress

    limited stock was the biggest shock, anger and shouting arisen.
    Mangers said there will be no rain checks - the big sale you will be a miss'in

    all said and done it was not too fun, and we went back home about nine
    checked the computer and found all our items auctioned cheaper online

    the funny thing was the seller online was the first person that night waiting in line

    I waited in line for my parents with my friend and dad to get 3 ipod's with a 50 dollar itunes gift card from wal mart. I waited from about 2:00 until 5 when they started selling them which is not a big deal. There was this snarky old woman though who kept walking back and forth from the middle of the line having to make us move everytime she wanted to walk through and we were not really sure why. Then when we went to pay we figured it out. The old woman worked for wal mart and her daughter and her had stocked piled 3 carts full of crap to pay for. And wal mart wanting to make things easier for everyone was making you wait in 1 line to get your ipod and pay for it there too. So this woman proceeded to take 50 minutes to check out with her three carts. Apparently deciding what to by and what to put back after her discount was taken off of everything. By the time we got to pay it was 6:30 and I still wanted to hit a few other stores.

    i never shop on black Friday. Where I live sales are limited during the day. So what the point if the deal lasts for 40 mins until a hour, when you got a hour long line at the cash checkout line. So again I stayed at grandma's house watching movies.

    Worst: Standing in line outside of old navy from 12 to 3 in the coldness of WISCONSIN. Best: Being first in line with my stepdad being second and getting a copy of lego rockband for free (with a 20 dollar purchase). Also, my stepdad, the next four in line that we soon became aquainted with, and myself decided to play a trick on someone who was number 38 in line...from here on out I will refer to him as \"number 38\". About 2 hours into it or around 2 in the morning number 38 (very Flamboyant) approaches us and exclaims that he is number 38 and he should be getting a copy. Us 6 already knew that there were only 25 copys total. We just say, \"Yeah, you should be good.\" About 20 minutes later number 38 comes back up to talk to us again. Me being bitterly cold and seeking some enjoyment goes on to tell him that a worker had just come out and confirmed 50 copies of the game! He goes crazy with joy. My comrades back me up and continue to say that 50 copies of the game will be handed out. Around 2:50 some workers came out to hand out the 25 copies. As me and my stepdad get one we decided to take a video. As the crowd gets mashed up we see our friend, number 38, come running up from behind and litterally begging the sales staff for absolutely any copy of the game. This kid is freaking out. After 2 minutes of solid screaming he gives up in a fit of rage and runs off. I only wish I could post the video with this story. It was awesome.

    I for some ungodly reason went to toys r us for the halo ODST and some other games with gift cards at midnight.
    Best got into the store within 30 minutes after it opened.
    Worst had to wait 3 hours just to buy the games I wanted. It took them 30 minutes just to open the registers. People were yelling at the manager since the lines were not moving. during that time.

    Worst: waiting in line at best buy from 11am to 5pm and realizing some people at the door had been there since Thursday morning, then there were a ton of people that crawled out of their vehicles about 4:30 and like zombies they crept toward the opposite side of the road right across from the front door at best buy, then at 5am they rushed the door and most got in before me and before people who had been there since Thurs. morning. Then there was this lady (who had been there since Thurs. morn.) who like an idiot was tyring to squeeze a buggy through the door and she was ticked, but i got the worse as she drove over my ankle repeatedly and bout broke it.
    Best: any time i've gotten a really good deal on a game that was way cheaper than usual, and waiting at wal-mart to get my son a trampoline =)

    I worked at Best Buy and watched people salivate over $200 computers. I thought this was funny. The worst part about this year was realizing all the good deals on video games kinda upset me since I already bought every game that came out this year. Sad Panda ;_;
