To the shock and awe of no one, Ubisoft has revealed that it is currently working on a third installment in its acclaimed Far Cry series, CVG reports.
In an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine, Far Cry 2 writer Kevin Shortt said that while he wasn’t personally working on Far Cry 3, "I know the team…and what I’ve seen looks pretty exciting."
While I wouldn’t expect anyone from Ubisoft to say the game looks amateurish and will surely establish residency in the heart of Suckberg, it’s good to hear the game is progressing nicely at this point. I contacted Ubisoft to see what they have to say about the game, so I’ll update if I hear anything.

As long as they do over the faults of Farcry 2, respawning outposts, crazy hard AI (I had to turn down the difficulty because I couldn't see who was shooting me) and the never ending driving, time without having a vehicle because it just blew up. Vehicle spawn points please! I'd also say throw out the weapon degration, yea it was a cool tech idea but it got annoying with gameplay.

Farcry 3! Awesome, can't wait! I remember when Farcry 1 came out you'd get to these spots where you just stopped and said \"Wow..\" as your looking out across this gorgeous island. Was one of my fav games when it came out. Looking forward to this!!

hopefully they fix the little problems that the second had. like the constant jeep patrols, fast travel that was actually convenient (those bus stops were in the dumbest spots), and enemy ai that went down after you just opened up on them. do that and id probably not sell it back.

i hope its better thatn 2, atleast in the first one the map making was better instead of improving on the mistakes of the first the slaughtered the second. please no more africa settings it makes me sick to my stomach.

i hope far cry three is better than 2 because i hated when i traveled from one play to anouther place and the checkpoint that i killed before people are there again also i hope you can create your own person or what would be sweet is that you can use your xbox avatar like in gartar hero 5...

Far Cry 2 had a lot of issues. Yes..the graphics where great, but the game froze up a lot (especially for the Xbox 360 and PC) for numerous people. My Far Cry 2 game froze up so bad that I couldn't even load a saved game file anymore. Another annoying feature of the game was the guard posts...the guards have infinite spawns.

I just hope it's not a disappointment like Far Cry 2. That game was riddled with bugs and questionable AI, in addition to a sort of... limited weapon system, which all added up to a rather frustrating experience.
My experience in particular was unusually frustrating. When I rented the Xbox 360 version, the water would often turn neon purple. Some textures came out funky and really detracted from the experience (I once saw an entire wall of... I don't know what it was, but it looked horrible and I can't believe it got into the final game). The game often crashed my console at inopportune moments (Playing for a while and forget to save? You just wasted six hours of your life). And when my dad bought me the PC version, the disc was malformed and we needed to get a replacement.

I just hope that Far Cry 3 isn't entirely boring. Far Cry 2 was promising but the game was far too slow that I got bored long before I gained interest.

I really hated FarCry 2. Farcry one was amazing but the second one is to me the most disappointing game of 08. Please don't fk this up Ubisoft.

I would like Farcry to be more like the first game. Maybe they should have two types of farcry like COD is now. One series based off the first game the other based off the second game.

SOOO stoked for this game!!! IM a farcry fan all around. The uwe boll movie i might skip but the games have always been hella fun. Just make the AI a lil smarter and maybe easier to kill and PUT VIBRATION ON THE GUNS IN MULTIPLAYER!
