As many of us head to the airport, headphones firmly in place (with a DS in a pocket, naturally), for this week's round of holiday travel, take solace in knowing this: there's another edition of Feedback to keep you company this week. Whether you're starting to plot out gifts for the rest of the holiday season or contemplating an impulse-buy during the slew of Black Friday sales, Adam Sessler, myself, Abbie Heppe and Dana Vinson gathered earlier this week to discuss the best of the best from 2009!

Feedback -- Thanksgiving Edition »

Here's what the crew talked about on this week's Feedback:

Feedback, suggesting violent games for the holidays since...well, ever. Bring joy and subscribe:

    User Question:
I have recently started a gaming magazine with a few fellow friends/gamers at my university. One of the main sections so far is focusing on single player gamers, and their disenchantment with the gaming industry. What are your opinons of the snowballing trend of the industry to focus wholely on multiplayer aspects with little to no enthusiasm for the long forgotten single player experience in ALL genres i.e. platformers, shooters, RPGs.

Y'all talked about this a little on the thanksgiving show, What do you guys think about gender/sexism in games? With ever growing ranks of women gamers, will Games evolve from their comic book aesthetic roots? Will we ever see sex represented where it isn't a joke or bad rhythm mini game?

Tools of Destruction is an absolutely fantastic game. I really think Insomniac out did themselves with this installment. I hope we get to see more Ratchet and Clank games. It would be a shame if the series ended, but if it does this is a great way to go out. I admit that Adam's enthusiasm for Ratchet and Clank has rubbed off on me, but Tools is just a strait up great action/platformer.

My RL friends leave me to died in Left 4 dead. I went over to his house once w/ my 360. 4 people were there so 3 went on one team one one on the other and when the person with 1 get to the safe house he keep closing the door on them and shooting them in the face with a shoot gun.

I always sucked at mario but i know poeple who will buy it.

Last note: i am not a hole

Why is Feedback not for Zune Marketplace? DX Everything else is! I love listening to Feedback. So I want to listen to all the old ones but they're not there. Please make it so I can subscribe to this on Zune Marketplace. Also... Don't judge me for owning a Zune.

I started getting really interested in video games in the last console generation (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube), when the only 2D platforming games were being released for Gameboy Advance, at a price of only $30. I think that because of that, people around my age definitely do have a hard time justifying $50 for New Super Mario Bros. Many of the games released for PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube introduced concepts that are now being more fully realized on the PS3 and Xbox 360; that is to say that if the PS2 was your first console, you will have very different expectations for what a video game should be than someone who's first console was a SNES. Video games are a very different animal today than what they were 15 years ago, and gamers' expectations reflect that.

Like I said before, all the 2D platformers of the last generation were released for Gameboy Advance - many of which were ports of SNES games. This means that the price tag was lower for this type of game, and it also means that the genre is associated with handheld gaming now. Not only will gamers not want to pay $50 for a 2D platformer, but it's just not the kind of game that most people want to sit down and play for long periods of time anymore. I can definitely see people who grew up with a NES or SNES buying New Super Mario Bros. and loving it, but for the younger audience, it will definitely be a tough sell.

You know guys I am sooooo intent on buying Uncharted 2 but the biggest concern that really no one has answered for me is do I need to play the first game to really enjoy the second one or to really understand the characters and story

For the new super mario bros, even though there is a nostalgia element for older players, and its release had me fire up the old snes and play some all stars with my nephews. It really kinda bugs me that it is a full release, (in some alternate dimension) if this had been released for the 360 it would have been DLC for 1/4th of the price.

Great show you guys. Every single week i just love this show more and more. Ive always wanted some show or podcast were Adam actually got to express his views other then segments on X-play. And now i have this and the soapbox to look forward to. And Patrick i'm always happy to see you on every week . I use to watch you and Stephen's lunchtime videos everyday and was very sad when you left mtv multiplayer. And Abbie, wow, she needs to be on every single week. She is hardcore and beautiful at the same time. The 45 min - 1hr time limit i think works perfect even though i could listen to you guys all day long. You camera work is vastly improving to. The only thing i wish and want from you guys this Christmas is MORE. The new things you are bringing to your web content is great. I thought your review discussions were a good idea. Some sort of daily video would be great. Be it some sort of gaming news for the day or what not. Come on Andrew i know that you know how to make a podcast.

Obviously, Modern Warfare 2 is a the most complete, well done game of the holiday and most likely the whole year and we all know the record numbers set already, before the holidays are even here. But Valve will probably be the only other company truly happy after the holiday. The reason that L4D2 is played by so many people, of both sexes is the same reason people go to the movies to see all the different types of film portrayed in the game. Basically, you have a \"B movie\" zombie flick, with the scale of a disaster movie and gunplay that mimics the best action movies you can think of. The eerie feeling before and after a fight definitely hits as hard as any horror movie you'll ever see. People go see movies like \"I am Legend\", \"2012\", \"The Road\" because they always have and always will have a fear of widespread panic, disease, or natural disasters we can't control. But, I think the fad of today (especially in the US) we have a \"newer\" innate fear of provoking or being seriously provoked into war...MW2. It just so happens such a great developer helped us deal with this fear.

I know that this show addresses the most popular and exciting issues but they should touch upon new games coming out and expansions for the PC. Don't get me wrong I like all the console talk, but the PC is the one system that always get left behind.
