Mass Effect 2 GameStop Pre-Order Bonus Items Trailer

Last month, BioWare revealed that gamers who pre-order its upcoming sequel Mass Effect 2 at GameStop will receive two rather choice bonuses: Terminus Assault Armor and the M-90 Blackstorm heavy weapon. Well, now GameStop has released a little trailer for the items, and while I’m usually against this whole “exclusive items for pre-ordering” business, the M-90 demonstration has me questioning that belief.

already pre-ordered, not for the items but to make sure i could get it so i knew i had to keep money for after holidays. i really do hate the whole PO exclusives though. i usually end up having to wait 3 months for a significant price drop before i can even get a good game, but luckily i had 5 bucks sitting around not doing anything so i thought " i can get $55 in 36 days" so yippee for me. shame i wont be getting other stuff in 2010 like mafia 2 or bad company 2. DAMN YOU MW2 FOR YOUR PREHOLIDAY RELEASE AND AMAZINGNESS! and thank you for letting these gems get perfected a bit more

What I've seen work in the past with pre-order DLC are implemented items they add into the game if you ordered it that you have to either buy or work to get, the advantage is you still have a choice to go get it or not while people who didn't want to pre-order simply don't get the chance.

OR

Withhold planned DLC and give pre-ordered sneak peaks to up coming DLC items via unlockables in the game so eventually people who just bought it can get the DLC down the road.

Getting it, totally.

But the Army of Two pre-order bonus is only a bonus for about a month, then everyone else gets it.

Also, odds are, like with Dragon Age, you don't have immediate access to the items. Probably hafto level and buy it, so by the time you get it, it doesn't make battles one sided. At least not too much.

pre-order exclusives are EVIL. I will be getting Mass Effect 2 because I enjoy the title. Yet having such things like items, levels and now even game modes *cough* Army of Two *cough* it is getting to be too much. On that note Army of Two can kiss my backside if they think I would be on board with that bull.
