G4 Is Proud To Present Campus PD

When you're flipping around the channels, looking for something (anything) to watch, you know you stop on action-oriented reality programming every time. Relax, everyone does. That's why we at G4 are proud to present Campus PD, a brand new program detailing real, college police work premiering on the network on Wednesday, December 9 at 11 PM ET.

From policing parties and security issues, to keeping the peace at sports events and arresting possible suspects, ride with the Campus PD as they tackle the ongoing challenge of keeping students safe. Depicting university life from the perspective of the law enforcement professionals who police them, this ground-breaking new series presents a real-life account of these modern-day campus heroes. As they gear up for a shift, these courageous cops know they’re in for a few surprises!

The series heads to five college towns across the country including Tallahassee, FL, San Marcos, TX, Cincinnati, OH, Chico, CA, and Greenville, NC. It takes viewers deep inside the internal lives of the law enforcement professionals policing a town of fun-loving college kids. It isn’t easy, but these dedicated officers love their jobs, and wouldn’t have it any other way.

“It’s no secret that high energy police shows are very popular among male viewers. With Campus PD, we join real police teams and head to college towns, where the students – and their everyday lives – will prove highly relatable to G4’s core young male audience” said Neal Tiles, President, G4.

Campus PD premieres this December, with an initial run of ten episodes. It's available in HD, too. Check out the official site for more details.

Woohoo, we're traveling all accross America to show you the wildest college campuses. Alcohol, Drugs, and... oh shut the (insert word) up G4. I liked you when you were about tech stuff not this reallity tv (insert word). I happen to be a student at UC Cincinatti, and had the misfourtune of having these (insert word) trailing around the campus PD in order to exploite UC for personal gain. I'm also in one of their videos. ("Campus PD ? Christians and Cleavage", I'm the guy who takes his shirt off behind the two girls.) I'm proud to be in that clip, harrasing christian fundies but aside from that incedent, G4 forced the campus police to be theatrical rather than practical in law enforcement. Law enforcement isn't supposed to be about ratings you vile soleless money-grubing pieces of (insert word). They showed up at parties and engaged in illegal law enforcement activity (such as searching without a warrent) because it made for better tv. G4, I used to respect you, but now, you've just become a (insert word)ier version of TRU TV. Go to (insert word).

Whining about it and not offering suggestions is counter-productive. Not one person here has offered anything of value to this thread. Crying and trash talking doesn't resolve anything.

    shame...

Kudos to G4 for completely disregarding comments on how we are tired of these incredibly lame shows, and yet they keep coming. -_-

Really? More COP type shows? Even after everyone has REPEATEDLY stated how there is too much of this crap on G4?

That's why I don't watch G4 anymore. I just come here for the gaming news and interesting articles. That's about it. I can basically watch the X-Play and AOTS videos online, so why bother with the channel?

If any one has any new ideas for a show, now is the time to speak up!

Game show (like Who wants to be a Millionaire or Jeopardy) with 100% gaming-related questions (spanning the entire history of gaming or specific categories and genres) with a chance to win a ton of loot and some cash! Bonus rounds consist of playing some surprise game and beating someone else to double your score. Or challenge other players to a round of Street Fighter or something to take their points? Win a trip to an awesome game developers offices? Broadcast Street Fighter, Tekken or MK Tournaments? Play games against the top rated players in the world?

I'd have fun watching something like that. This is just off the top of the head. I'm sure you guys can come up with better stuff. There's a ton of things you can do.

This show and the other crappy programming like Cheaters and Cops should be the Epic Fail on AOTS

Yet another reason not to watch G4.

I hope whoever is responsible for this garbage takes a look as these comments. When something gets a universally negative response you should probably take notice.

I go to Texas State! (San macros, TX) Not going to lie, this is not very "G4" but I think it's cool. Mostly because I go to a university where they are going to film. I'm surprised they let you film there. Especially since the University is trying to loose it's party school stigma and this will certainly not help. At least I'll know what's happening if I see a camera crew following a cop.

Why doesn't Neal Tiles listen to the audiance instead of catering to a specific demographic? Sure, tech and gaming wasn't intergrated into everyone's life back during the hey-days of G4, but it's totally different now. Thanks to the iPod Touch/iPhone, Nintendo DS and Wii, and Sony PS3's and Microsoft's XBOX 360's intergration with Facebook, and etc, more people who weren't in to tech and gaming, are. So why not scoop them up, instead of this 18 to 25 crap. Because guess what, I'm still in that demographic, and only X-Play and AoTS appeal to me, and what happen to Code Monkeys, original content that made sense to the network, or what it use to mean. Not the International Sexy Lady Show, that's what the internet's for, and not Human Wrecking Balls, that's what YouTube is for. Neal, if you are so bent on doing reality television, why not do a gaming or tech reality show? Heck, you want to copy other rivals, stop and copy The Guild, I would love to the see The Guild as a 30-minute show, or something similar.

Stephen, you have to admit, it does look mighty familiar to what happened back in the earlier days of MTV. That's what we're all concerned about. There's nothing wrong with a bit of variety, but let's all hope the powers that be don't go that route.

Perhaps they should remove Cheaters and/or Cops and let this show fill in for it. You know, so it doesn't crowd the line up with too many shows that highlight the stupidity of humanity.

DAMN YOU G4!!! Why give these loser douche bag cops a show! All they do is focus on busting college students rather then actually fighting crime.

I can't believe you guys would make such a stupid show, those cops do not deserve one.
