No More Heroes Coming to Xbox 360, PS3 (Which Was Also The Original Plan)

We're a few months out from Ubisoft and Grasshopper Manufacture releasing No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle on Wii, but if you missed the original No More Heroes, there's another opportunity; No More Heroes is being upgraded and ported to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The news was buried in the pages of the latest issue of Japan's Famitsu Weekly. The HD-enabled version of No More Heroes is arriving on February 25, according to a report by Siliconera.

What most people have probably forgotten is that No More Heroes was destined for Xbox 360 all along. Grasshopper designer Suda 51 was developing No More Heroes for Microsoft's console until someone told him about Nintendo's Wii plans. At that point, he moved No More Heroes to this new platform.

“Originally, I’d wanted to make this game for Xbox 360, actually," he told MCV in 2008. "[Marvelous Interactive boss Yasuhiro] Wada-san had information about the new Wii and how the new controller would work before it came out, so that’s why he thought I should produce the game on that format. At the time, I didn’t really understand why, but after seeing and understanding how it works, I think it was a good choice and the controller works really well with the game.”

No More Heroes isn't just being ported to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It's coming back home.

Ubisoft has published No More Heroes, but as the new versions have just been revealed, it's unclear whether the company will also handle releasing these new renditions. Stay tuned.

I'm glad this game is getting an upgrade, although I can't help but feel saddened. It's great that more people will be able to enjoy this fantastic game, but at the same time it was one of the few exclusives that Wii owners could feel proud of.

No more heroes was one of the games I wanted to play buy wasn't worth getting a wii in my opinion. Now I really don't have to!

I loved No more Heroes for the Wii.It had an amazing style to it,not to mention the gore. The game reminds me so much of kill Bill and the Matrix, and now finally it gets the HD treatment it deserves.

No more heroes will be a cool game without motion controls, but not great. That was one of the huge appeals of NMH on Wii. I don't think it would be the same on xbox or ps3. Plus it's not a FPS, so those people won't like it.

idk y but im not excited for the whole motion crap ps3 is getting into, i just hope its not a mandatory thing that all games down the line use. the sixaxis is enough for me. but ya i might take a look at this game if its a button masher

LOVE THIS GAME..No More Heroes on the wii works because of the wiimote. I really enjoyed playing this game and wonder how it would transfer to the 360 and PS3. Waving the wiimote for the finishing move or using the nunchuk and wiimote to suplex an apponent is so gratifying. I'm not sure that can translate to the 360 or the PS3 with the regular controller. Just the same that Resident Evil 4 on the wii was so great that it ruined RE5 for me. However with Natal and the PS3's wand (enter sex toy joke here) I think this game really has a chance to shine on both consoles. But without that I'm a bit on the fence with this one.

hmmm... maybe this will take advantage of Natal & Sony's Motion? If not, I wonder what will happen with the controls.

maybe it will be better on a real system that actual 16-35 year olds play and not one for the babies and elderly

That could completely implode NMH2 sales on Wii.

So I might actually hold off on getting the NMH 2 because it might get ported as well.
