We have passed the storm that is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 only to find ourselves knee-deep in two other major releases: Valve's (somewhat) controversial zombie sequel Left 4 Dead 2 and the widely anticipated Assassin's Creed II. We'll be tackling both games on Feedback, but we also need a little help from you, too. Do you want to be Feedback's question of the week? All this talk about 3D and how its going to be the future of gaming reminds me about the virtual reality games I played in the arcade back when I was a kid. I remember that was a huge deal back then, maybe not as huge as the talk about 3D right now, but still a big deal. My question is whatever happened to virtual reality games and why didn't that become the possible future of gaming? Do you think the technology could ever reemerge and become the next step in gaming after 3D, or would it be too gimicky? Also would you ever play a virtual reality version of a game, because I think it would be pretty cool to be in Ezio's shoes while he's assassinating someone.

cant wait to see how far are grphics gonna be pushed this year, Games like Killzone 2 and uncharted 2 have shown us what i belive that standard quality of graphics should be.Seeing the fact that the 360 usually out sells the ps3 in games. Is it possible that developers are dumbing down graphics to fit the capability of the 360 (darksiders, bayonetta)? I think they're more interested in the quantity thats comming in then the quality they're putting out.

Now that the purging rain of AAA titles have all settled into their spots for the fall/ Holiday seasons. I cant help but notice that one game really stood out. This game is Uncharted 2..........yes all the games that came out were great but i have noticed that with almost every conversation that happens in the gaming community no matter what holiday game is being talked about there is now an Uncharted 2 comparison wether it be small or big. Modern Warfare 2 the years biggest game in terms of sales is at the tip of everyones tongue but even still ive noticed that Uncharted seems to be the splinter in the communities mind still. Not taking anything away from MW because its a superb game but i notice that with even that theres still in the background an Uncharted reference even when professionals are talking. Clearly this game has raised the bar in gaming. The only thing thats in my head now is after you create such a product did you also put a nail in your coffin? Because lets face it this franchise if it slips in terms of making a superior game after this could be trouble for them. What do you guys think?

How does the panel l feel about Super Street Fighter IV and Blaz Blue Continuum Shift coming out as just being really an update to a game that people already instead of being like Blaz Blue 2 or Street Fighter V? Now don't get me wrong I am not hating on these fighters i actually love them dearly, and I'm excited for the updated games. I heard Super Street Fighter IV won't be at full price, but since we are in the dlc era of gaming i find it weird that dlc wasn't done instead. I understand fighters have been this way for years (especially guilty gear and street fighter) where they just update but if that trend continues then by 2011 we should have like Super Street Fighter IV Turbo if they do what capcom has been doinng with the Street fighter series. Do you think the reason they are getting away with out being hated on is because of the genre? Just curious about the panels thoughts on this.

The Holiday season sales are about to begin. With price cuts on new TV's
In your opinion what kind of TV would be best for gaming on?
A 1080p LCD or 1080p plasma?

Going along with EA's recent decision to focus on reviving their older franchises over creating new IPs, do you think that it will be a while until we start to see some originality in gaming? It seems that almost all the games this holiday season have 2 attached to the end of their titles and 2010 has even more to come. Yes, sequels do give developers a chance to refine issues and really polish the game, but from a gamer's perspective there just isn't the same feeling of wonderment and surprise you get from playing a brand new franchise. New IPs may be a risk for companies and it's understandable that they may hold onto a franchise to ensure a profit but if done right, a new game could bring in tremendous rewards. What are your thoughts about the future of gaming over the next few years and do you think there will be any sort of new innovations to come? I'm all for sequels but not all when they're all at once...

in order to boosts sales all around I'm surprised Sony or Microsoft hasn't tried to knock the price of thier games down. think about it, if i knew that Sony or Microsoft was selling thier games cheaper than the other company you would not only buy thier console but thier games solely.

YEah uh my questions in who won the MW2 sweepstakes?
Mancer1516
With L4D's director constantly changing how a level plays out, I am wondering if the future of innovation is not necessarily in adding new game mechanics, but how the game is presented to the player.
I am kinda tired of WW2 games but, maybe not if I didn't know where the "tank" was going to show up next.

I would gladly pay $100.00 or more for a game that lasted longer/had more things to do. I believe developers need a three tier game program. We already have the $30.00 and $60.00 games not including special additions. Your probably thinking that I am crazy? What if you had a game like call of duty that lasted 15-25hrs campaign? Of course it would take longer to develop, but that would be worth it right? The $100.00 game should have a playable demo that is twice as long as well. That way you could be sure that it was worth it. This would only be for the A+ titles. I'm getting tired of shelling out $60.00 and getting 6-8hrs worth of game. And yes I know about online and horde modes and all that. But wouldn't you pay more if you new you were getting twice as much COD MW2 campaign time? I know I would.

In the past few years, the movie industry has seen a lot of movies based off of remakes of old movies, old t.v. shows, video games, and books and it almost seems as if Hollywood is starting to run out of ideas on making original pictures. Do you see the video game industry falling victim to this trend or is it safe to say that there will always be new and original games for years to come?

With God of War 3 and Final Fantasy 13 coming out in March of 2010, do you see them splitting sales, causing Square and Sony to make less money in the short term?

Do you think that Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft will implement a strategy that allows consumers to re-download DLC from their previous console onto the companys' future consoles, alla PS4, Xbox Next, and WiiHD? A great example is Valve's Steam service.

As A once avid PS3 Fanboy it s been hard coming to grips with the fact that PSN just can t stack up to LIVE. Hanging my head in shame, I recently did the dirty deed of buying a 360 just to play MW2 with the hordes of friends that have on LIVE. I am sadly loving the experience. Has the PS3 missed the boat this generation or will this year s sales/updates really help the PSN community catch up to the extreme brand loyalty that LIVE members seem to have? (I.E. gamers buying multiple 360's because of hardware issues due to +40% failure rates, ETC.)

What do you guys think the sense of history in Assassin s Creed II? Is it easier to use historical figures, as opposed to inventing brand new characters? I personally think the commitment to staying historically, architecturally, and linguistically accurate is not only commendable but refreshing. Do you see this type of effort in other games? Do you think this sets a standard for more educational (for lack of a better term) games? Do you think the attention to history, and historical figures in a game like this add to the player s immersion, and connectedness to the storyline?

Recently more and more game companies are forgoing the development of the split screen multiplayer options in order to offer a more comprehensive online experience. Does this spell the end of the days of heading down to your local game store to pick up an extra controller for party nights?

Do you think it's hypocritical of the gaming community for some people to raise a fuss and call Left 4 Dead 2 a glorified expansion, but not hold games like Modern Warfare 2 or Madden to the same standard?

My question is Do you think it's better for a company to constantly churn out new IP's or is it better to keep reinventing their old franchises to match new standards like mario has done

My questions are why do people bother paying for xbox live gold and how on earth did the pay format take off in the first place?
I've been gaming online since Quake II on a 56k connection and I've been doing it for free the entire time. The xbox 360 is the only console in gaming history to charge for what has ALWAYS been available for free and from what I've seen all people are paying for a gimmicks I never use like netflix (no longer exclusive and now available on ps3 any way) or chatting with people while they're playing different games. I own a 360, along with every other console and a gaming PC I built myself but I refuse to pay for live gold when it offers absolutely nothing in terms of gameplay that would merit the cost, regardless of how cheap it is.
This whole issue actually reminds me of net neutrality, which kind of confuses me considering that basically anyone that spends any reasonable amount of time on the net at all is in support of net neutrality. Live gold are essentially the guys arguing against net neutrality. Here's something we've been getting for free for a decade, let's just start charging people for it.

With this weeks sales numbers for mw2, do you think the mainstream media will start considering video games as more of a driving force in the media industry and more of a mainstream art form? I consider myself a well adjusted 28 year old male but when i tell people that I am a gamer, I get chuckles and strange looks as if what I am doing is some childish act. The majority of the population does not understand that games provide great escapism as well as an artistic point of view. Do you think that the gaming industry will ever get recognized for what it truly is?
