Steam opened the floodgates last night. You probably snuck over to Best Buy to pick up a retail copy on your lunch break. Have you had a chance to pop into Valve's zombie sequel yet? I reviewed the game for G4 (and, as you might expected, loved it), which means I've already dumped many more hours into Left 4 Dead 2 than you have! Take that, Internet. But you'll all surpass me soon enough.
If you've been able to give it a spin, what do you think so far?

Left for dead 2 is very repeative. It makes me want to fall asleep. There are better zombie games out there like burn zombie burn, nazi zombies, etc. L4D was cool at first. Cant wait for half life 2 episode 3 of half life 3 though.

Look, I like many of you heard of the early launch of Left 4 dead 2 and was a bit weary but I came into playing left 4 dead 2 not with a negative outlook but open-minded and found many improvements, I didn't even find that the AI are retartded, but actually have improved greatly, and the physics of the game? All I can say is wow. I agree that Left 4 Dead 2 is a awesome game, its worth buying or getting for Christmas at least.

The good things first then the bad.
Good things: Melee weapons (machete rules), new zombie types, new characters, all campaigns are linked with each other (i like story), characters have more personality, variety of weapons, "boss infected" pop up more often.
Bad things: AI is Fing retarded. I said exactly what Greeknerd said except with Rochelle, and Elis, some weapons types repeat themselves, someone can wait in the rear and zombies won't respawn back there. I agree with this review %100

I'm loving this game right now. I have two complaints that I hope will be addressed.
1.) The teammate A.I. is terrible. These are just a few of the things that my friend and I said:
"Really Coach? Did you really just shoot me in the back twice?"
"The horde is coming and why is Coach all the way over there?"
"Why is Coach stuck behind that car?"
"COACH, MY FRIEND AND I ARE DOWN RIGHT NEXT TO YOU! SAVE US! COACH WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!" (Coach died twenty seconds later)
"Where is Dom when you need him?"
2.) There are a few occasions were we would start a game and there would be horrible lag. We would then have to retry a few more times to get a proper server.
Even with these gripes, I can't wait to play this game some more. I love it.

Pretty freaking awesome. Loving the upped difficulty and I can't get enough of listening to Ellis talk. Hate jockeys with a passion but they make it loads more fun. I really enjoy the settings especially Dark Carnival. (Though... that's only how far I am because I keep getting screwed over by tanks at the concert finale.) Freaking out right now because I'm at school and I just want to get home and play some more.

Steam is disgusting. Stop buying games from a DRM service. Digital Distribution is a horrible thing.

Wow there are a lot of mixed feelings here. I really don't see how people think that they have a right to tell valve, how to run there marketing. The game has enough new content to defer itself from the other. If your mad that it doesn't have enough for your buck, well buy something else. The lack of sales will prove a better point than expressing it on some forum that no one really reads any how. At least no one that matters. Seeing that it has been in the top 2 selling games on steam since it's pre-purchase was released the public has spoken...
Haters you may continue hating. I'm going to kill some Zombies.

I've been experiencing game crippling lag on l4d2. It did the same thing on the demo but when i pop in other games like mw2, halo 3, or whatever else it plays just fine. What the hell? i just wanna play survival mode without lag jumping everywhere. Besides that the game itself is awesome.

The maps feel more expansive, dialogue smart and catchy, new challenges and climax scenarious spark good laughs with friends, NPC's are smoother and more extensive and varying due to the introduction of "uncommon common", melee weapons add a great way to let out some steam, and the gnome is back. I love this game and I have only played Dead Center through Swamp Fever. 5/5 I can't wait for what the future explorations of this game will hold.
