Bomberman Live was a big hit for Hudson and a massive resurrection of the publisher's explosive-crazed mascot. With over a half-million downloads, the publisher would have been nuts not to capitalize on the game's success with a sequel. And here it is. Phil Theobald got a first-look at Bomberman Live: Battlefest during a recent Hudson event. Besides new Xbox Live avatar integration, Hudson has apparently made some changes for the better, according to his preview:
"Thanks to player feedback, the unpopular Land Mine power-up has been removed from the game, but a few new power-ups have been added to the mix. The Rocket Bomb, which flies across the screen, stunning whoever it hits seems like a wicked little tool, but I rather liked the Cluster Bomb. This bomb had three adorable little bombs attached to it. Once the main bomb goes off, the three remaining bombs fly off in different directions for a follow-up blast."
Do you play Bomberman Live? Are you looking forward to using your avatar to blow up your friends?

Dude, Bomberman (PSN)is so much fun. My wife loves it. But damn those cursed, horrible color patterns that plague the majority of all the levels in the game. I can barely play 3 minutes without getting a freakin' head ache. I stuck to playing only two levels to remedy the problem...only two level are not worth what I paid for the game. And I stopped playing about a month after purchasing. If this was a hard copy game, I would've traded it in and gotten the newer one. Maybe the levels for this new one are a bit more thought out, you know, like by an actual game designer that would actually think about things like EYE STRAIN maybe?
Here's an argument for all you Feeders AGAINST all games only being digitally downloaded:
What happens when the game sucks? Or you want to lend it to someone? Or when you want to trade it in and get another one? Or burn it cause you hate it so much?
We need answers people!

Bomberman has always been one of my favorite multiplayer games. I spent SO much time playing SB2 on the SNES I couldn't wait for PS3 to release the new version. And well I would probably get this one as long as it makes its way to PS3. Oh and also as long as the weapons don't get too crazy, they don't add animals, allow us to turn off the revenge mine cart, and keep the 2D perspective. The game needs to stay true to the originals, the 3D versions weren't as good.

I don't see why bomberman needs to let the avatars in. Do enough people care about their avatars that adding them to games makes for a sale point?
I do love Bomberman, though.

I'll stick with my Super Bomberman with 4 player adapter thank you.
