Bonk is old school. In fact, I'd wager that a sizable chunk of Feed readers were teething on game controllers when Bonk's Adventure hit TurboGrafx-16 in the early 90s. But thanks to a resurgence on Wii's Virtual Console, Hudson has decided to give the big-headed caveman a new platforming adventure, which is coming to Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. Phil Theobald checked out Bonk: Brink of Extinction for us during a recent Hudson event, and here's what he had to say:
"...it's worth noting that Brink of Extinction has a slightly more epic tone than its predecessors. Usually, Bonk went up against his nemesis, the evil dinosaur King Drool, to rescue a dino princess or retrieve a stolen half of a moon. This time, King Drool is merely the boss of the second world -- Bonk must instead focus his attention on the giant meteor that is speeding towards Earth. This natural threat has placed the entire planet on the, as the subtitle says, brink of extinction."

I never played turbografx when it was out, but I certainly remember the bonk commercials. to add to bigolkev's list, I'd like to see killer instinct make a comeback.

So happy Bonk is back!! Actually I'm just glad to see a lot of old school games are coming back to life for the next gen systems!! But there are a few more that I'm waiting to see: Contra, Shinobi, Power Stone(Dreamcast) After that my nostalgic fix will be taken care of!!

This is also coming to WiiWare, just to say, but I'm getting it on PSN. It's cool that Bonk is coming back.

10 to 1 Bonk destroys the evil meteor with an Epic Head Butt! He was always the reason I wanted a Turbographix 16, but I could never convince my parents to get one. The horrors of being 7.

What is even more awesome about it is that it isnt limited to just XBLA or PSN, so everyone wins! (except for those poor Wii owners)

I loved Bonk, thought it was one of the funnest games of its time.
