This summer's downloadable experiment was a success for Electronic Arts and DICE. At the BMO Capital Markets "Digital Entertainment Conference" in New York today, EA exec. VP and CFO Eric Brown announced that, as of today, Battlefield 1943 has sold 1.2 million copies across both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
The game was a "revolution" for EA, said Brown.
Battlefield 1943 will launch early next year on the PC. Oddly, no downloadable content has been released for the console versions and so far none have been announced.

There is no DLC because they have 90% of their team working on Bad Company 2. So don't expect any.

This is an amazing game, it may not have the complexities as 1942 or Battlefield 2, but for its price point its well worth it. I know Dice has some competition with a market saturated with FPS' but you know what? If you somehow get some sort of Battlefield 2 (PC) port onto the consoles, I'd be more than willing to buy it. I still love that game. IMO its one of the only type of games where you can use a sniper rifle the way it was meant to be used, at long distances.

More maps and maybe a few more weapons would be a great way to keep the game going... otherwise it's kind of sputtering out.

I stopped playing this a few months ago. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but I got bored playing the same maps over and over and over again. But yeah, this was the best game I played during the summer! Hey EA/Dice, give me some more maps and I'll play it again for a few months. ;)

yeah I cant believe they havent made new maps yet. Everyone would get it. I know i would.

Game was definitely worth the little 15 bucks that it cost to get it. I usaully don't get much dl content, but if they decided to add more MP maps, I would buy.

this was a great game. so much fun to play a sandbox shooter that was well made and soo pretty. I loved it. I got all the achievemnets too. I want more maps if they have DLC. Best download money can buy.

yeah i don't have time to play games as much as i used to but whenever i do i make sure to squeeze in a few rounds of this. why isn't there any new dlc?!

This game kept me busy for a while and was some of the best money i've ever spent on a game. More stuff like this is needed.
