Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Midnight Launch Event -- Tanks, Ghillie Suits, And Energy Drinks

If you're a PC gamers still interested in playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 somewhere other than a console and purchased the game through Steam, it's been a frustrating week. Anyone who picked up Modern Warfare 2 at retail have already been able to jump in and start playing, but anyone who downloaded the game via Steam has been locked out. All parties involved have been silent.

Luckily, it's no longer an issue: Modern Warfare 2 is unlocked.

Ah, the joys of digital distribution.

what would be really cool is if they made a mod for COD4 and it made the game almost identical to MW2.

I'm playing online on the 360 and every single time I get killed, the kill cam shows me dying from someone who isn't even aiming at me, or it warps me to where I supposedly died... They seriously need to release a patch for this.

oh for the love of god, you wanna know why people think pc gaming is dying? Its because of the developers. You, the developers when you refuse to release all the copies of the game at the same time. You, the developers who rip games apart and create direct ports from the consoles. YOU THE REVIEWS who refuse to tell the whole truth and recognize that other versions of the game are ruined and still giving full score on a game that does not deserve it. I don't know who to be more angry at, the game developers who destroyed the game, or the reviews who still praise the game for the console versions and not even mentioning the flaws in pc versions.

Who cares if they took ideas from modders. Why should console gamers be denied the ability to play a game with the great ideas people modded into the PC version of COD4? You can't say they ripped anything off because the mods were content created for THEIR IP! If you want to complain about ideas being taken go create your own game. Making a mod for a game doesn't give you any rights and I am pretty sure the whole point of making a mod is for people to play it and have fun. You give PC gamers a bad name. IW was just trying to deliver some of the good ideas the PC community had to their bigger and more profitable console audience and I for one am glad they did. Although I agree that they should probably run dedicated servers for the game on PC but oh well not my problem.

I dont mind backing my fellow gamers at all. I just get sick of reading and hearing endless whinning and complaining. I dont defend the crying kid in the store because his mom wont buy him an action figure and I dont see this as any different. I'm not singling you out or anything. I think that if you have a problem with it dont buy the game and dont whine, move on and play something else. If you dont have a problem buy the game and have fun. There doesn't need to be endless whinning about it because these companies and others dont seem to care because they are still selling a ton of units. If they relize their bad move they'll fix it but me joining in the whine-fest isn't going to change anything.

IW won't be getting my money. i hate steam and hate no dedi servers more. steam is a attack in the pc gaming scene. if your not online, you can't play a game you OWN. it's a form of DRM and control and i'm against all forms of DRM and control. it's like your a child and can only play a game if daddy valve says it's o.k. if they cut stream and for the love of god put dedi servers back in the game then i MAY buy
    this game.

    P.S
console gamers if you are wondering where IW get the idea for throwing knifes, AC 130's and tac nuke in MP, they take it from the cod4 modders. i've been playing with all that stuff for about a year now. so IW good luck finding more content to ripoff for your next game.
