This stylish teaser trailer you see below celebrates the announcement of Deadly Premonitions from Marvelous Entertainment and Ignition. The third-person survival-horror-action game is for the Xbox 360 only, and is scheduled to come out in 2010.
Someone here at G4 pointed out that it looks like a Wii game, but I think that's beside the point. The horror genre is supposed to look crappier than other genres -- that's just how it is. Can you imagine how un-scary Paranormal Activity would have been if it had had a $100 million budget? Same thing with video games. Scaring people is really not dependent on glossy looks.
The trailer's clichéd piano music and lackluster presentation, on the other hand, might indicate something about the game's quality, but I'm not going to judge yet. I remain cautiously optimistic, just like I am about every horror movie that comes out. You have to sit through a lot of Prom Nights to get to the House of the Devil or Drag Me To Hell.

Yea, there are plenty of good looking horror games, they don't need to be bad looking to be scary, this unfortunately just looks really, really bad. In fact in ruined the "scary" moment when he got caught by the doll thing, the animations were so stiff and dull, it hurt to watch.

Problem with that statement is that Paranormal Activity WASN'T scary. It blew.
