Polyphony Digital will finally deliver Gran Turismo 5 for the PlayStation 3 in 2010. The 1,000 cars on the disc should keep racing fans happy for some time, but even when they've exhausted everything Gran Turismo 5 has to offer, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi told Autoweek that next entry, presumably titled Gran Turismo 6, shouldn't take as long to arrive.
"You won't have to wait as long as you did for GT5," said Yamauchi. "GT5 represents a whole new operating system. GT6 is just new apps that run on the GT5 system."
It seems a little premature to already start requesting features for Gran Turismo 6...

I'd be more interested in DLC tracks since there will be less than 30 and they will be spread out over 3 different types of racing. With hundreds of popular real tracks available on titles such as R-Factor and GTR2, I think that 30 is a very small number to keep people busy. Even Forza 3 has many more tracks than GT5 will have. Lets see some DLC tracks titles like Spa-Francorchamps, Laguna Seca, Mid-Ohio race course, some real rally stages instead of small dirt tracks, and more than 2 real world ovals for those stock car fans (even though I'm not one). I want GT5 to be the perfect racing sim, but every time so far they only get 75% of realism, and keep it there for the average folks, then call it a full sim(even though its not). Most people have there favorite cars, and stick with them, but when you only have a few places to race, thats when things get old fast. Damage is another issue... Seriously, Richard Burns Rally is over 6 years old, and no one has come close to its damage modeling, why could they(and GTR series) use real licensed cars with full damage but not a company as big as polyphony? The thing that makes racing exciting is the danger, and if you can hit a wall at 140mph and still drive off, that's not very dangerous. It seems like they spent 90% of their time on graphics and presentation rather than real physics and consequences...

If I had to sit with my finger up my anus for the last five years waiting for a sequel to re-appear, I'd be jealous too.

Hats off to any developer that can "rush" a game out and get a 92 metacritic score.

Oh look at me, im playing a game that was rushed out before we polished it just to beat GT5 to market,i mean unlimited rewind that you have, because you cant turn a corner in a cheap race simulator, really, doesnt that sound a little like cheating. Better not let microcrap hear that, they may ban you losers from using your 360, but look at me, ill be playing a game that is way more polished and complete, even if i did have to wait a little longer to play it. what else you got? nothing? thats right, the PS3 does have the most new IP's coming out through 2010, modnation racer, heavy rain, last gaurdian and more. Didnt microsoft game studios leave microcrap too? everyone else has
pantycricket
why would the GT franchise be jelouse, when they have made 1 billion dollars in sales? Yes, you can easily look those numbers up, and yes, thats world wide. I think forza is the jelous one, i think noone worldwide would play corosion motors3, along with the losers that are to cheap to by a ps3 and play the easily identifiable dominate franchise game!!!!!! Oh, and if you compare the elite(of what, i dont know, i guess ripping you off) 360 to the PS3, you get more for your money with the PS3, and yes, i think you all know what you get with SONY, and all you get jipped out of with microcrap.

@usetheforce666
The reason they talk about Forza is because it's out any and being enjoyed just like its 2 previous games.
Five years and $60,000,000 later and there is still no GT5
It's just jealousy, naturally ppl would rather be playing rather than waiting.

lol...same here
I remember seeing the image of GT5 back in 06 when I was a Senior in high school. Now I'm Junior in college. Still waiting....but perfection does take time.
scottyrob82
I don't buy it. It took Gt4 four years to come out and it was the same as GT3. And I mean the same with only a different interface.
gsil247
I honestly remember talking to my friends about this in high school. I am now a senior in college, no joke either. What does that tell you?
seph384

PS3 LUNCH TITTLE FTW!!!!! and i just need to upgrade my pc i dont know why but it gets old pretty fast ...
CALiiGeDDon
so does that mean this game will be out around 2015?
phoenixrage
previous GTs had lots of cars that were the same, just with different stickers on it.
with the potential of DLC, i don't get why GT developers would even bother worrying about how many cars to provide on the disc?! Just focus on the core engine of the game and get it out to the market! Its not like the PS2 anymroe, people can download patches and add-ons.
ProjektX13
Seriously who are they trying to convince? This is Sony we are talking about they have the worst reputation for promising an not delivering on time, and even promising games way before their actual released date (GOW3, Heavy Rain, MAG).
RRODisBack
Can't rush perfection. There will be no crappy games that only took a year to make using the same old outdated engines on the PS3. That's unacceptable for Sony.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH... HAHAHAHAHHAA .HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA .AHAHAHAHHA
AS LONG AS THEY MAKE GAMES ON DELAYSTATION3 RATHER THAN WAITING AND CLEANING UR DUSTY PRODED XBOX360 MADE OUT OF RECYCLED DELL PC'S!
nightsnipe
if it would take as long hell would have probably frozen over

Actually, better if they could make GT6 for 5 years. I don't want a game like Forza that is made about 2 years and have minimum improvements.
Forza have 3 games and the latest installment have only 400 cars, while even PS2 version GT4 had 700 cars + turn 10 told that they will deliver a video editor that never came out. When i played i was shocked to see that cars are not very polish. Looked like a toys... Forza 3 delivered me a big hype with rewind option. Thats all.
I know that Gran Turismo 5 will be a great racing game after demo version of GT5:Prologue, but i really want Polyphony digital to make GT6 for 4-5 years because they can make a really great driving simulation game. I can wait, but better make a polish game, rather then something with minimum improvements.
