Can you guess what everyone on Feedback was talking about this week? Hint, hint: we're one week away from the highly anticipated launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. However you feel about Infinity Ward's latest entry in its shooter franchise, it's shaping up to be a monumental day for games. Chances are everyone could have talked about Modern Warfare 2 for an entire show, but as it turns out, there's a bajillion other games being released right now. So, we talked about those, too.

Feedback -- Potpourri Edition »

Here's what else Adam, Abbie, Sterling and I cover on this edition of Feedback:

  • That controversial Modern Warfare 2 viral video that showed up last weekend (and has since disappeared) sparks some heated discussion...and harsh words for Infinity Ward.
  • Even Nintendo's not sure what to do with the Wii these days. We look at where the Wii's come in the past few years and some up with some easy ways Nintendo can patch things up.
  • Game of the week? How about games of the week? DJ Hero, Tekken 6 and Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony -- batter up!
  • As more casuals join the ranks of our fellow gamers and achievements encourage players to venture into harder difficulty settings, a reader probes us about difficulty settings in games.

Feedback: doing a poor job of hanging signs with scotch tape since mid-2009. Sing our ballad and subscribe:

(And yes, we are aware that Sterling's microphone is underperforming this week. Top men are on the case. Top. Men.)

You know an online talk show is good when its this long and you still must watch it. On a side not I really like the potpourri tile lol. Also, I'm beginning to wonder how many obscure references Adam can really make in 30 min, haha. Maybe we'll find out one of these weeks. I was hoping theyd talk about Dragon Age Origins but perhaps next week? Great show though!

Yes Tekken with it's #1 fighting game in the world ranking over the past 2 years it's dead. It's long in the tooth it's over. Yes the #1 fighting game in Korea, Japan, hasn't evolved. It should die. I mean it only has 3x the amount of people playing it and profit of Street Fighter IV. In fact if you combined SFIV and VF5:R's sales in arcades it doesn't even match Tekken.

::sigh:: I'm done. Clearly all of my talk has fallen to def ears. Clearly no one knows what they are talkiing about here about fighting games. Whatever, Tekken's done, you're right. No one will play this game, there will never be another Tekken. "SOUL CALIBUR"(which is 10x more likely to never get a sequel) will take the mantel as the the Namco's flagship fighting game.

Good Job G4. Way to do your research. _ p

Does anyone else who downloads the audio podcast from iTunes have a problem with the podcast playing twice in the same track so that it's double in length? It's annoying having to have it play twice.

I, for one am over the whole I.W snafoo and hope this is the last time it blows up into a full "discussion", I'm waiting for it to get relegated to an aside that gets mention in passing.

Onwards.....Nintendo.....wow . Ok, I've loved Nintendo since I was 5 playing games for the first time and slowly but surely they are losing me and sooner rather than later it will be forever. Nintendo's graphics decisions don't bother me in the least, story, characters, and gameplay are much more important, If the game isn't fun to play then WTF is the point? There is one reason and one reason only that Nintendo continues to recieve some of my limited funds and that reason is Zelda. I love the Zelda series, I have since I started playing games. Twilight Princess is the only reason I own a Gamecube (because of Nintendo's almost complete departure from adult oriented games), when the game finally got released I tracked down a used GameCube and then picked up a shiny new copy of Twilight Princess. That game transported me back to the joy I got from Ocarina of Time and renewed my love of the series.

I dislike the Wii. I vehemently dislike the Wii and the main reason goes back to my comments about gameplay. The Wii motion controls suck (the new hardware might fix that, I don't know, I haven't used it yet so I can't comment), they are so incredibly inaccurate that they kill any and all joy I might be able to derive from the console. The second reason I dislike the Wii is the disheartening lack of games aimed at hardcore and/or adult gamers. If Nintendo decides to upgrade their graphics standards then that's a good thing because (from my point of view) it might enable them to create another outstanding Zelda game. However, If Nintendo doesn't fix or abandon the motion control thing when they finally make a new Zelda game then I will never play it. It will not matter how many people give the game glowing reviews, how epic the storyline is, or how badass the game makes you feel I WILL NEVER PLAY IT, and that is my stand on the whole situation.

As far as dificulty levels go, I'm getting a little bored with the idea that an increase in difficulty only means MOBs recieve more health or there are more of them on the screen. 17 years of gaming into it and I'm starting to lose all interest in increasing difficulty to the max in almost all games I play now because I don't really have to try harder and the lack of sophistication slows the gameplay down immensely. Mass Effect illustrates this point very well, increasing the difficulty to max only means I have to stand with my rifle trained on one enemy for a ridiculous amount of time because its HP or shield numbers have risen to obscene levels, it doesn't make them smarter or start to use tactics more or anything else that would mean I actually have to worry about things like strategy it just makes my trigger finger tired because I have to hold the button down for a really long time. Achievements/trophies ARE NOT ENOUGH incentive to make me spend more time with a game by playing through on more than one difficulty. THEY ARE NOT adaquate means of extending play-time, PLEASE STOP.

I Agree with the discussion about Tekken 6.

I had high hopes for it being the first Tekken on the 360, and while I like the accessibility of it to all gamers (Button-mash vs. Strategic combos), the fact that it feels a LOT like it did back when Tekken 3 was released on the PS1 is not a good thing.

Knowing what I know now, I would still pick it up, but not for the full price.

Oh well, time to play Tekken 6 Online. (Crossing Fingers to have a lag-free game...)

I just really don't think that this needs to be supported when already so many people think on Xbox live think that being gay is such a bad thing.

The vote in Maine is proof that tolerance and equality for homsexuals are still very far away in the United states.

People are being assaulted and killed for their sexual orientation, so that makes it a big deal and something not to be taken lightly.

I'm not surprised at what happened w/ Modern Warfare 2.

I don't know if you remember, but Sony is doing the same thing right now w/ PS3s. I mean, hell, Australia is getting FREE fixes, but no word on anywhere else.

P.S. Stop Puttin' Abby on....her eyes are purdy.....MUST RESIST fanboism!

Im a 15 year old gamer and cursing/calling people names happens all the time. Yes i know im kid but its not cool to call people that. Most of my friends end up just jumping into a party. It's unfortunate that it happens but like i said before its not cool to call someone that.

That was a great show. It's hard to believe that IW would make such a stupid mistake like this a week before it's launch. The thing that bugs me the most about it is that they just made this word totally acceptable for game use. Before this happened I felt that there was some what of a fight to try to stop people from using racial slurs or obscene language between gamers. IW just totally crushed that fight by using this in their advertising. Do I get offended by this word? no not really.I'm I sick of hearing it used all the time by adults and kids? yes. I just don't understand why they would do that. It's not like they even need to advertise this game. Will all this stop me from playing it? No, I'll be at gamestop for the midnight release. It's like the classic parent guilt tactic "we're not mad at you Infinity Ward, we're just disappointed."
BTW love you're hair Abbie, you look really hot.

as far as that F word or any derogatory word goes, i think people should just take more of a "sticks and stones" attitude about it. the fact that everyone is making such a big deal about it is what give the word its power and impact, which to me, seems to encourage its use more than deter it. if it became more commonplace without the outcry of controversy, maybe not in this generation, but in future generations, it would have the same effect of calling someone a "doodey-head" or a "stupid-face".

An AI does make the game, not the amount of bullets you take nor having less armor. The problem is that I think video game companies maybe still think that their gaming audience is still kids which can easily accept being shot more times as hard.

Speaking of companies that still think their audience is still only children, Nintendo has no excuse for not having a better graphics quality. Yes they did come out in the generation of pre-HDTV's but let us not forget they are in Japan. They had HDTV's before we could even dream about them. Besides, graphics are only half the battle, having a good game is getting tough now with not having the adequate hardware to run it on. Until Nintendo really does decide to consider making games for a more mature audience we will have the same hardware and Nintendo will still keep spilling out the same Software. The reason, I think that they still have those Friend Codes on the Wii are because they still see that their audience is primarily children. Which makes perfect sense to why they would have those and as I said before, they have no reason to think otherwise since they know that mainly children are their audience.
