Continuing the recent string of announcements regarding special/limited editions of upcoming monster titles, BioWare has revealed details about the Mass Effect 2 Collector’s Edition being released alongside the standard edition on Jan. 26.
For $69.99, the following goodies can be yours:
- Premium, tin case
- 48-page hardcover “Art of Mass Effect 2” book
- Issue one of the Mass Effect Redemption comic book
- Bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes and making-of videos
- Unique in-game weapons and armor
In a statement, BioWare big-brain Dr. Ray Muzka said the collector’s edition content will “surprise Mass Effect fans,” and “The limited edition comic book and bonus DVD will really enhance and expand the overall Mass Effect 2 experience.” While I wouldn’t expect anyone from BioWare to encourage gamers not to go for the more expensive edition, I don’t doubt that diehard ME fans will eat up the bonus content.
And for those PC gamers looking to catch up on the space saga before the next one is released, you can pick up Mass Effect for just $10 on Steam this weekend.

dang looks awesome now i have a reason to buy not just because of the case but the comic and addtional content and armor makes it all the more worth it

I usually don't go for CE but that motto was ommitted when purchasing the Gears of War 2, Mass Effect and then Fable II CE. This is a def buy and I enjoyed the first Mass Effect CE and it probably made me like the first one a little bit more as well. Now we get armor which is nice, (I love artbooks to start with).

Uh, can we get a Steel Book Case please? A Tin is kool but seriously... Steel Book DvD Case... otherwise I'll just get a standard copy so that I at least have A case to put the disk in.

Dang. This is one Collectors Edition I will definitely be picking up. The last 2 CE I've picked up were the Tin case version of Soul Calibur 4, and I got the hard case version of Red Alert 3. Both were worth the extra money, especially RA3. Loved the soundtrack!
Has anyone noticed theres a lot of bonus stuff for ME2? If you preordered Dragon Age you get dragon armor, if you pre-order at Gamestop you get the Terminus armore, pre-order at some other store (forgot which one) you get the Hellfire armor, and now you get bonus armor for the CE? This makes me wonder what their DLC is gonna be like.

Well, next Tuesday I will be getting the MW2 Limited edition. Before that though the last LE/CE I bought was Halo Wars Limited Edition.

Sweet, that's actually a good amount of content for only $10 more. I think i may have to get this.
question: I went to my local gamestop the other day to pre-order Assassin's Creed II and they said the Master Assassin's Edition had been cut. Any one else hear of this or know an explaination??? The guy at the counter told me it isn't available but he didn't know why. Gamestop have also taken down any collectors edition of the game as well has Best Buy. Did they run out or stop the release for some reason??

the last one i got was arkham asylum which came with a disappointing plastic batarang and an inmate profile booklet. but i thought gears two was a better limited edition.

That's all that comes in the SE? I was looking forward to shelling out some dough if they had anything like COD4MW2's SE. Wish they'd include the soundtrack to the SE, the soundtrack to the last one was stellar!

Am I the only one who thinks that would look hideous on tin? I like the idea but a much simpler N7 logo pressed out of the metal would be better. Also, I want the galactic codex and map on the disk, those would be sick!

I have never bought a CE because i didn't see the point, but Bioware has made it a point to buy this one.

I bought the PC version of ME looooong ago and when I got a new PC I found out that it would play ME.I'm currently in the process of upgradding my new pc and hopefully by time ME2 is released I will be able to play ME2 were I left ME1 from.
