If you don't love shooting zombies (blasphemy!), then stop reading this article; it doesn't concern you. The playable demo for Valve Software's Left 4 Dead 2 has arrived on Xbox Live (and on Steam later today) for all interested gamers. Previously, the demo had been restricted to gamers who had pre-ordered, but that's no longer the case. Given the amount of skepticism leveled at Left 4 Dead 2, the demo is an important moment for Valve. If you've had a chance to download it, tell me what you think.
Oh, also: braaaaaaains. Naturally.

For anyone who is having lag issues,
turn off your multicore rendering in the advanced video options menu. This was causing my computer to lag on my 5200+ Athlon dual core. Once I turned it off everything ran exactly the way it was supposed too. My friends also tell me there are ways to tweak the AMD dual cores to get better performance out of them and solve this problem but I haven't experimented with this yet

It was a lot of fun, although there didn't seem to be that much added content or improvements. Only 5 campaigns? Sounds like an expansion pack to me... On another note....why are people whining about their 20 GB harddrives...I've had it for 4 years now and i have almost 50% of it free. You know....there is a delete option, and anything can always be downloaded again! durh!

Played the demo most of the day and I'm really enjoying it.
Been waiting months to play it. I'm pretty satisfied with it and I just wish I could play the whole thing even more now x.x

I like it!! I was one of those people who were pissy about the "next year" issue, but after playing this game, I see why they did it. It looks to be a bigger, freakier, more productive and satisfying game this time around than the first one could ever be.
Also, big fan of Nick.

ok, so i really like this demo (it didn't really "wow" me all that much), but did anyone else notice just how bad these graphics are?? the game is incredibly fun and it doesn't completely take away from it, but just take some time to clean it up a bit! the blood and acid are terrible!

Personally? I love it. The new music is especially interesting, but it definitely feels like they brought it up a notch.

This game is amazing. It is a sequel, one of the best competitors for GOTY.

heres to finding out Left 4 Dead 3 is the next "expansion pack" posing as a full fledged sequel. Valve is lucky I love them and zombies, because if it were anyone else, I would call shenanigans.

how have u been playing for a week if the demo came out today?
I honestly was a little disappointed about the L4D2 demo i feel the game is rushed the shooting is buggy for example i had the SPAS shotgun with a crowd of zombies around me i couldn't shoot any of the zombies even tho i was aiming directly at them (yes i no how to effing aim with a gun if u don't believe me challenge me in a friendly match in halo 3 my gamertag is the same as this acnt name)

I've been playing for a about a week now and all I can say is WOW!!! Everything for graphics to animations to sounds have been revamped or improved. From the accuracy of the frying pan ping to the whop whop sound my AK sputters bullets. By far the new Infected that impressed me is the Jockey if your one of those gamers who like to run and leave your team member ala Rambo...The Jockey was made just for you!!! I only hope the campaign is a little longer last one was a bit to short.

I think considering what is available in the demo is probably about 3/4 of the gameplay and length of the full game, I'll wait until a GOTY version comes out next year and then grab it for $20. The demo can hold me over until then. And if it doesn't, then the game isn't worth buying because there's seriously not much more you're getting with the full game.

I pre ordered so i have been playing this for a week. This demo is really fun. The game surpasses the first one so far, this is only a demo so its hard to make judgements early but i am really optimistic bout it. Melee weapons are really fun to use and that silenced smg is just crazy fun to shoot with. GUITAR FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-You can beat zombies over the head with a guitar
-Pipe bombs are amazingly satisfying
-Graphics improvement
-Tons of new weapons
-New equipment
-New Zombies

Cons:
-Live campaign is laggy
-Characters don't seem as funny as the first four
-You want the real game as soon as you finish
-When it lags, melee weapons are useless
-Too many Spitters!
