The "spiritual successor" to Baldur's Gate has been a long time coming, but Dragon Age: Origins is finally here for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. No matter which platform you're checking out BioWare's latest role-playing epic on, our review suggests you'll be in for a good time. I'm still not convinced Dragon Age: Origins is my kind of RPG, but since it's a frickin' BioWare game we're talking about, I'll definitely be booting it up to find out one way or the other.
Did you decide to take a sick day to get a head start on the 60+ hours of holiday gaming? Are you fumbling through the instruction manual at work, waiting for the clock to strike 5:00 pm? Is Steam currently running through the Intertubes to deliver the game to your PC?
Let me know your thoughts on Dragon Age: Origins so far...or describe the painful wait.

I am on the fence about getting this. Gamestop told me they would have the PS3 version tomorrow but next week COD comes out, i just dont think i would have enough time to enjoy this, Uncharted 2 and COD

Got the collectors for PC and 360.. Cant get any of the DLC gifts to work ont he PC at all. My guess they are having issues : Game is great though

I tried to pick it up for the PS3 but they were all sold out, on the other hand barely anyone picked it up on the Xbox.

I got the PC version, as I am mostly a PC gamer. Bioware has outdone themselves!!! Makes me just as happy as busting open the Baldurs Gate 2 box and installing it. Only about 30 minutes in, loving the story, the graphics and the voice acting. Running smooth on my PC, so that is a good thing. Took a bit to get my bonus stuff handled as the websites are taking some punishment, but that I see as a good thing! Enjoy the awesomeness everyone!!

wow the old console debate. I have all 3 platforms available to me and my 360 version is sitting in the car waiting for me to head home.
No matter which platform you go with this game is going to be seriously good. 60+ hours on one play-through? yes please
I might pick up the PC version in a year or so when mods have really become available on the PC

Its all kinds of fun picked it up this morning. Just so you guys know their are achivements on the pc they post online automaticly as well if your signed into your ea/dragon age account.

When you see 15 comments you dont expect 4 or 5 of them to be from 1 nerd face.....I just bought the game on lunch break and cant wait until I get off...so I guess I'm in the 5pm boat...looks effin epic though.

Since Bioware made Dragon Age superior on the PS3, I'm sure Bioware will make the Mass Effect series superior on the PS3 too.

Fun game - kind of reminds me of W.o.W. in its gameplay. The choice options are better executed then they were in mass effect - you really have a sense that your choices matter and had you said something different, the conversation flows accordingly and feels realistic. So far I have felt that the interaction between the character and the world is somewhat sparse. Certain items like boxes and dirt (much like world of warcraft) have sparkly auras over them which signifies they are "lootable" but only those items are - which makes me feel somewhat reminded of the fact that im playing a game not fully immersed in a world.
all and all, im digging it so far. worth a purchase for sure.

played through 1st 2 tasks, and the attack on the castle. the game is different if you aren't used to this. I like it though. The game auto set graphic settings on my pc to low. it looked like an xbox/ps2 game. I bumped them up to high and it still did not look awesome. If you have a pc and console i would go with the console version, for superior visuals. Most people do not have the absolute top of the line pc, and most people who do would not utilize the devkit anyway.

I get to play my Xbox AT work. so yeah, definitely putting in at least 40 hours into this game this week. ^_^
