Thor

Marvel Entertainment released its third quarter financial report this morning, and along with talk of "Q3 2009 net sales of $105.7 million and net income of $20.4 million, or $0.26 per diluted share, compared to net sales of $182.5 million and net income of $50.6 million, or $0.64 per diluted share, in Q3 2008" came the word that Thor and Captain America video games are scheduled to hit shelves in 2011. Both are from Sega, and while we had heard word that the games were coming, we didn't know the dates.

Thor is scheduled for May, 2011 and Captain America for July, 2011. The assumption is these games will come out to accompany their respective movies, just as the Iron Man 2 game is scheduled for an April 2010 release. That assumption is looking more and more true. As of now, the Thor movie is scheduled for May 20, 2011 release where      Captain America is scheduled for July 22, 2011 release.

Anyone have an early prediction on whether these games are going to be good or not?

i agree with psbox but they would need to take the game to a over the shoulder view, use the batarang physics from arkam asylum, bring back the fact that Cap. uses guns, and DO NOT GO BY THE SCRIPT OF THE MOVIE. i thought that throwing batarang's in that game proved fluid. the real problem will be the rushing of the game through production to keep with the hype of the movie and that will bring down the value of that game. The Cap. game stands more of a shot than thor.

I can't wait for the Captain America movie, and I hope the game turns out great. Besides, what could be more fun than chucking an American flag patterned shield at a nazi's head?

If they're anything like Wolverine, they'll be worth it. If not...sorry charlie, another crappy offering.

Wow if you are not excited about the Thor or Captain America movies then you are pretty much a loser. Go masturbate to Dark Knight

First off, Sandman you forgot Chronicles of Riddick, in addition to that yeah I'm not excited about a Thor or Captain America movie tie-in game either. Hell I'm barely excited for the movies themselves. With that said I still have 1/3 of my hopes, after Wolverine I pretty much lost all hope for super-hero movies :( Thanks a lot FOX

@mengplex--Maybe you don't remember Captain America and the Avengers for the SNES/arcade. But that was one of my fav's as a kid--I still play it sometimes.

They're games based on movies based on comic characters. History says, they'll suck. There have been a few exceptions over the years, but, they are surprise games that go against the norm.
