A teaser trailer for the follow-up to 2000’s American McGee’s Alice has popped up online. The stop-animation style of the trailer gives it a decidedly Nightmare Before Christmas/Coraline feel, and depicts Alice in a therapy session that gets odd right quick. The aptly titled The Return of Alice (as it's called on developer Spicy Horse's site) also has a new release window: 2011.
I dug the hell out of American McGee’s Alice. Sure the platforming was a bit wonky, but the world was just so well conceived (well, re-conceived) that I just couldn’t help being totally enthralled by it. I’ve been pulling for another installment since I finished the first one, so that should help explain the Cheshire Cat-sized grin I'll be wearing for the next year and a half.
