You know what’s better than a limited edition of a game you’re looking forward to? How about a limited edition that includes extra goodies but doesn’t cost a cent more than the standard edition? A fool’s dream, you say? Hardly. Developer DICE announced today that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Limited Edition will include six exclusive bonuses for the price of…zero…exclusive…bonuses...The point is it’s going to cost $60, which means there should be plenty of standard editions gathering dust on store shelves come March.
The bonus content looks something like this:

- Improved Vehicle Armor – An up-armor package is mounted on all vehicle types, decreasing the effect of both explosive and penetrating warheads, significantly improving vehicle survivability.
Click through to see the full list of upgrades.

- Supreme Vehicle Firepower – Additional weapon packages are mounted for the driver of all armored vehicles, greatly expanding the range of targets the vehicle can successfully engage and destroy.

- Vehicle Motion Sensor – Use this electronics warfare package to locate enemy units in direct proximity to the vehicle.

- Tracer Dart Pistol – This magnetic dart attaches to any vehicle surface, allowing squad members to track, lock on, and fire rockets onto moving targets even beyond line of sight.

- M1A1 Submachine Gun – Reliable but heavy this classic weapon is a powerful force in the hands of any Battlefield veteran.

- M1911 Pistol – Highly customized M1911 are favored for its dependability and the power of its large .45 caliber round.
Honestly, unless this is going to be a truly "limited edition" (i.e. only a set number will be made), who's going to buy the standard edition?

It looks like modern warfare with killzone 2 graphics, nice blend but is it possible to develop in under 1 year?

i think they should make all the limited editions $60 and the regular $50

I think the LE is not standard because they want to attract more customers, show some love their fans, and also do not want eveyone to have all these unlocks at launch. The point of the kit customization is to unlock weapons, gadgets, specializations as the game porgresses. Anyways can't wait for the game!!!
LOPster
Just a note, these unlocks are not unique to the Limited Editions.....you just get them automatically instead of having to rank up to get them.

Darn getting off the subject. But maybe you are right jpz. Maybe they will only put out enough limited editions to take care of preorders, but aside from that, if they do more, its a ripoff.

i second odst being worth it. everybody exagerates the shortness of it and everything else is great.

^^^ To me, ODST was worth every single penny.

I think, and I just think this is really intended for people who preorder the game.
They didn't want to charge extra for the extra stuff but wanted to reward their loyal fans who preorder early. Chances are by the release date, only the standard will be available.

This is great. I wanted to get this game on day 1, now i motivated even further to get this. Count me in.

I was thinking the same thing, jwhite33. So if the standard costs the same $60 that the limited, aren't the people who buy the standard technically being 'ripped-off'? I understand it still has the 'limited' quality but really...
