Even though we've seen several iterations and spin-offs of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, it's been a few years since someone had the cojones to introduce a new instrument into the mix. DJ Hero changes that, adding a turntable to the lineup. The $119.99 asking price is dicey in an economy where most gamers are scaling back, but as I pointed out in my review yesterday, despite its faults, DJ Hero is a supremely entertaining game. It's a game I expect will quickly find a fiercely loyal audience.
Finally, though, DJ Hero is in the wild. Have you had a chance to play it? What do you think? If you decided to pass on DJ Hero, was it just the price? Did anyone pick up the Renegade Edition?

igot the renegade edition of the game and no there is no difference but its about the game thats good its a very good game to me i like the track list and everthing its a good addition to music games and for the people who dont like i believe its because u already bought guitar hero 1-how ever many and rock band so u dont want another toy in the house understandable but this for the people who didnt buy guitar and rock band games r who dont like rocking out every weekend dont knock it because it dont appeal to u and its a game it aint like its suppose to take over clubs r anything. Anyway the crossfader is really not that bad u dont even have to get it exactly back in the middle it notice when ur close to the middle i learned that yesterday so them say that its not that great becuz of that and that its kind of hard is stupid challenge is good right. i enjoy this game to the fullest cuz its not just hip hop, dance, pop, r rock its everythang in one and for the people who love tha game see u online and the 3 out of 5 from xplay right 4 out of 5 for me n i usually on they side for games but not this time sorry

i love it, bought it yesterday(just the regular edition) one of the best music games out there, it sucks you in, the reviews for the game are pretty high (IGN gave it a 9/10 and they really honest) so for the ppl who are doubting this game i say go and pick it up it's not bad at all

Played the demo at work and honestly I can say I was not impressed with it at all.

I tried to play it at a Best Buy last week but they had it controlling Band Hero instead. Went back today and they had it controlling DJ Hero but there were five people standing around watching a guy play. Didn't have time to wait so I left. I'll try again though because I really want to play this game and don't know when I'll be able to actually buy it.

Is Dj Hero worth it compared to Rock Band Beetles which is forty $ more

what a terrible idea for a game. this is as bad as djs who spin their ipod collection with fake turntables

I'm considering returning my regular edition for the renegade edition....all just for that album!! Ugh, I'm a suck for music, why did they have to make it 80 dollars more?

I'm not buying it. Music games were never really my thing.

I picked this up last night. It's pretty fun so far, but so much more difficult than I imagined. The crossfader takes getting used to, but I don't think anyone has mentioned how difficult it is to spin the record with the blue button. It's too much of a chore. Other than that, it's a blast to play. My girlfriend rips it away from me to play setlists. I think the thing that's the most appealing to me is that it's a new challenge, but requires less technique to actually learn, as opposed to drumming from Rock Band and World Tour.
The only problem I can see ahead of time is the difficulty of teaching a new track to the uninitiated. Drums and guitars are easy to get right off the bat...A turntable with sample buttons and a crossfader takes a little more teaching to the new guy, which can kill the rhythm of the experience.

game controler is a piece of crap

Like some people I wasn't that type to buy Guitar Hero 1-5 and All the Rock Bands to get sick of music games and have a collection of plastic instruments. I waited it out. I NEVER owned a plastic instrument until DJ Hero came out. I Love the game and I think it should of gotten a 4 out of 5 stars. Its the first game. It does have flaws. What I hate about it is because people played Rock Band and Guitar Hero they down right don't give this game a chance. Its different from all the others. The only one I do agree on is Band Hero which is pointless. But DJ Hero is not about DJing its about feeling to music which alot of people fail to understand. I bought the game because of the music not because I want to be a DJ which I have no interest in.
Also I love electronic music but I also love rock. I hate Rap. What I would love to see DJ Hero is to add more Rock and electronic song mixes to pull in some of the people who have Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Also America is focused on mainly Rock and Rap, and Electronic (like Techno, House, Hardstyle and etc.) is really Under-rated other words its almost like a underground genre in the US. Some people in America need to venture out and listen to other types of genres. And that is why I love DJ Hero because it exposes people who barely listen to a type of genre that is slowly growing in popularity. I meet some Rock heads who love techno but was to caught up in Rock and Metal to actually go ahead and look for some to listen to.
I Love this game more than any Guitar Hero I Played because the game is mainly focused on the songs in my opinion then just DJing. So far most of the people love the set list of mixes even though they hate one song in the mix or what genre it is. I think its a must buy for people who love music and its an Amazing game. Even if you don't like music games give it a try it changed alot of peoples minds from what I read when they first tried it out.

oh and dwmatteson your being very closed minded in saying what u say thats a very bias comment and i personaly think it takes alot of talent what dj do and it is a awesome art of music to mash up and creat differnt sounding music i love both rock and hip hop and i have friends who are only hip hop fans and they picked up guitar hero 3 when it first came out and enjoy the game and challenge and have a larger appreciation for rock now so maybe u should just shut up and at least give it a shot JUST A THOUGHT
Lalo666
Its way better than what the reviewr yesterday made it out to be i think that its a awesome game and a change in the music genre games not other game has come out yet dedicated to hip hop and i think there should be more like dj hero and im sure there will be keep em comin!!!

Well, I've thoroughly played this game for along time now. (especially since the L4D 2 demo isn't working yet for PC users.) With my play time of DJ Hero, all I have to say is that I'm having an amazing time with it. The music for the game is fantastic and I got used to the crossfader, so that's not even a negative situation anymore. The only songs that I don't really seem to like are the ones with the guitar gameplay attach to them. But that's not really a bad considering that's only 5% of the songs themselves. And with the price.. WELL, if you have a local Gamestop in town.. I suggest you start slowly paying on a game every paycheck/month if possible. That's the only way that I was able to do it. With that method, I already have Dragon Age: Origins, COD4: Modern Warfare 2, L4D 2, and Mass Effect 2 paid off because I set back $10 a paycheck to place on them. SO there's a tip for the poor gamers out there like myself. ALSO... really.. I don't mind the score its self... but the HATE in Morgan's voice was sounding like it was absolutely absurd that this game ever existed. Like she was forced to play another Yu-gi-oh game. But it's ok.. everyone has their bad days...
Notafanboythatiknow
No, I haven't played it. I am not planning to buy it either. I like electronic music and the club culture somewhat, but I do not want to "be" the DJ. Even if I wanted to make mixes in my console; Craptivision is developing it. A definitely pass for me. For those of you who fell in love with the game, enjoy!!!

Finally, a Music Hero game that I can play. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait. I'm glad the makers of guitar hero have extended an arm to those who do not listen to guitar rock. At the same time the game is less accessible to the average player. Its hard, very hard - but in a fun way. But the real test will be this. can someone that plays Guitar Hero on expert even come close to playing dj hero on expert???
someone test this and get back to me
